1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

hollllly shit, I went through three pairs of top hats and finally got it right, there are a bunch of non OEM ones that don't work. Ill show you which ones to buy.

 

Oh damn, I definitely don't want to get any wrong aftermarket type seeing as how Rockauto lists a few.

I'm looking for some to use with some Bilstein 5100's.

Since I threw away my front coilovers last year, I don't have the parts anymore.

Yup, I have the same thing with OME 881's let me look through my email and find the link.

One pair literally was non functional due to the inner plate that holds the shock top was loose

another set had no rubber cushion and the ones I ordered for them ended up not fitting that top hat

the third bad set had fucked up studs that sat in the shock tower.

ill find the link for the ones that worked for me with no issues.

2 sets were ordered, the first set I bought from Napa. Thats why earlier in the thread I was jumping for JOY that I found the right gas tank through Amazon prime, shipping was 40 bucks shy of matching the tank.

 

Yeah those delicious non rusty bolts for the top of the fuel pump assembly on top of the tank.

 

Quite honestly if you still have a bunch of shit in a year... fuck yes I'll come down and get so many parts.


Not all of em mind you but alot ... it would have to be July of next year cause I already had my birthday and that's the only way I'm gunna get to drive that far of a road trip just to pick up free junk lol

 

You cant just buy some grade 8 at the local hardware store for less then me shipping.

Hellz yea that's a deal! Almost too much of a deal there has to be some kinda corner cut and my guess is on the coating on the inside. Could be thin, cheap, non-existent I dunno... but with how much you fight rust already I'd get something to seal the inside.


I'm sure there are alot of brands out there but my recommendation is gold standard tank sealer by KBS coatings. I've used their 3 step kit to restore old metal honda gas tanks with primo success... but that's just my 2 cents

 

Thats the funny thing.

its really island dependant, we don't have rust issues really here on Maui unless you drive the truck into the ocean because its relatively arid, where this truck came from Kauai which is basically high humidity jungle.

Why would you do any of those mods to those trucks?

Do you think one guy owns all of those?! The first one was fine so I think he's a normal dude .. but do you think there is 3 guys other that not only did that to their trucks but thought it was cool to convey them up?



I will admit that it's really cool with the double stack flat bed though
