good morning peeps! So I have come to a conclusion that the wife probably won't be getting a tow vehicle since prices are ridiculous and we have about a month left. Then i discovered a Mercedes GLE 350 is rated to tow 7200lbs...........been doing some reading and supposedly it does very well. still have more research to do. The other possibility was a Durango R/T but payload is a little to low on those and frankly it's an FCA product as well

Our garage has long been a depository of kids shit and my tools. Neither of our SUV's in it, so it's always been just another storage area basically. Since this nonsense started our box (gym) stayed open as long as they could, but obviously they had to close. Doing zoom classes of bodyweight shit and not lifting weights got old fast. With no end in sight about 2 months ago we started cleaning our garage to convert to a home gym. Found a used commercial again faster rig on the bookface bazzar. We already had some kettlebells and a bikeerg. Picked up some barbells and about 450# of bumpers from Rogue, found a used rower for short money that I re-furbed with factory parts for like $60 from concept 2, wife found 2 free weight sleds on facebook, got some stall mats for the floor and bam: home fitness culting.

Had to cut the rig uprights down about 14" to get them to fit in our low ceilings. Even then i had to drop the ceiling where the crossmemebers were to put them between the floor joists. Upon doing so I found the builders did a really shitty job insulating the ceiling of the garage. Good times, so next summer i'll probably need to drop the whole ceiling in the garage and re-insulate. 2 of our other friends (one about 10 minutes away, the other down on the south shore) have also done the same. Between us we've got everything a normal box has minus GHD (for now..). We're still on the hunt for a skierg to shoehorn somewhere in our garage, and more plates obviously. Next up is building an outdoor rig for rope climbs, ring muscle ups, bar muscle ups. We have just enough headroom in the garage to go overhead with loaded barbells and jump rope. But anyone taller than us can't. We can also do pullups on the rig with a few inches to spare about our heads. Again, fortunately we're short and don't hit our heads.

Still need to paint the concrete wall white, and we've got an old TV that we're going to mount down there on the back wall adjacent to the concrete one. And some old wood flooring we're going to cover the back wall in for kicks. Then get some sort of plate storage and and re-sheetrock the area between the joists where we put the crossmemebers.

Meanwhile I'd kill for a garage... haha

Currently house hunting in NH and searching for a house with enough property to build a big 2-3 bay garage or one that has one already.

I'd kill for taller ceilings, and a garage even my wifes stock 5th gen t4r would fit in.

That right there is why you should NOT buy a Durango!

That Merc looks like a nice option but can't imagine that's any cheaper than a Tahoe would be.

Well that Mercedes is a lot nicer than a Tahoe.

I have found numerous GLE 350s for around 26k whereas the nicest Tahoe I have found is a 2015 with just under 100K miles for 30K. Trying to stay as close to 25k or less.

If you can get the warranty on the Benz that's a good way to go. I haven't looked at them in a while, but a buddy got his wife a CPO benz a while ago and it had no cost maintenance and repairs for like 3 years or something like that.

Since according to the gubornator of Maine all us MA residents are plague infested degenerates you could go spread said plague around the area you want to move, and wait for estate sales. Pretty fucked up, but effective none the less.

FWIW, nobody's paying any attention to her social distancing mandate for people from out of state. Some MA-holes bought a camp down the road from us and they haven't been social distancing when they come up on the weekends. We had drinks with them around the fire on Saturday evening (but if anybody from the state asks we all wore face masks and sat 6 feet apart :anonymous: )

Whats crazy is that Maine is exempting all the surrounding states for the testing/quarantine requirements, but not Massachusetts. Both New Jersey and New York are exempt, which when adjusted per population, have a higher active case count. We have rescheduled a camping reservation in Maine two times, and just finally cancelled.

I don't hold any resentments as each state gets to determine what is acceptable. But it seems like on the surface that Mills has a grudge against Massachusetts.

My buddy who I fish with a lot and lives in MA seems to hear it differently. I imagine the media in the Peoples Republikkk of Massachusetts loves and blows up stories like this, but my buddy heard that Maine is using the EZPass system to track people from MA. And as you can see from Seth's response, people from MA are BULLSHIT on the High Priestess in Augusta fingering MA residents specifically. It's laughable, this whole thing.

Yeah, she's totally flip-flopped from the beginning of this whole mess when she was inviting people from out of state with open arms while everybody else was like "what are you doing?!"
