What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Checked my adapter harness before work this morning and three wires were incorrect, I swapped them around.
They were for the wheel controls.

 

Please please please....go with timbren. I have them on my truck for the rear with the ubolt flip kit. My father ended up going with sumo springs. Seriously, they were as hard as a rock and gave the worst cushioning imaginable. Take it from someone that has dealt and riden with both.

Pretty much the same. When pulling the access door trim panels off, pull top out first. The bottom of the trim panels have an "L" shaped tab that needs to be lifted out. If you pull the bottom straight out first, it's likely to break.

Just got my first Taco a month ago, wanting so bad to start my mods but times are tough right now. Hoping I can start this fall!

 

Thanks for that tip... I tried once starting from the bottom on the access doors and they weren't budging so I gave up due to not wanting to break something. This will help!

 

Yeah man, it wasn't easy but once I got going I found the technique. Yeah I removed the 3rd brake light and also deleted the xm antenna on to which took about 2hrs alone lol.

So it took me about 3-4hrs from prep to finished. I'd only do a couple things differently. First washed and clay barred roof. Then test fit and cut excess vinyl. I watched a bunch of videos so I had a general idea of how to go through the steps.

I started laying from center to passenger side standing on a ladder. Starting at center working my way to the edge. Then did the back last. At one point on the driver side I had to lift the vinyl all the way back up to center to get a bubble lol. Definitely learned a lot from the install, much more confident now, considering wrapping the whole truck maybe next year.

Curious.... How did you do that white stripe across the top of your headlights? Vinyl?

 

I definitely should have started by laying the center and and just a single edge - one video I had seen showed where he started off laying the whole piece but maybe he was much more experienced than I!

As long as you aren’t bottoming out you should be fine

 

Found a guy on eBay who hand makes them with fiberglass, then had them painted, not sure if he's still making them
