I wish there was an easy way to inform folks. As they're in front, that is a challenge most times.

Agreed, it took over two years of lobbying from automakers to have adaptive matrix headlamps approved.

Any yet, we still can't get laser headlights.

Not to mention archaic tail light regs and missing requirements, like one bulb per function.

When I moved to Virignia I was annoyed at having to get my vehicle inspected every year. But there's a benefit. Not as many taillight cluster clusters as when I lived in WA. The drivers, on the other hand...

    I completely agree!

I came from PA with state inspections also. It caused my folks to get rid of a car. But, a state inspection would be a massive benefit here.

Effective enforcement of something a lot more useful than speeding would help also. Tail lights out, shitty a/m headlights, running high beams 24/7, blatantly blowing stop signs, etc. Way better for the folks on the roads.

Yup. Speed is easy for two reasons. Everybody does it, and it's a violation that can be quantified by a number. I would be all over people who camp in the passing lane, for starters.

Slightly OT, I have a really good record defending myself for speeding tickets. The chain of evidence is easily broken. But, I also was tired of the work involved, so I am older and a bit more cautious. And, Waze rulz. Better than a detector in most cases.

Think this is the one state where radar detectors are illegal. Agree on Waze, it's also fun. Makes driving feel like a game. The last ticket was in Vancouver. Their mistake was price-matching it to what the traffic attorney would take to go fight it.
