Honestly, if it hits 5 I might let profits ride there. We'll see - Averaged down to 4.41, 211 shares. Not the end of the world.
FUN - bad call yesterday for a short term

A lot of smart, successful people have paid a lot of money to be able to not talk much, and let teams of people say what they need to say. That way they don't get up to a Mic/Twitter and say something ridiculous.







Amazon makes most of its revenue from AWS, they could hide in the shadows now.

 

How crazy would I be to throw a 2-3 day bet on JWN? No reason for it other than boredom, and looking at the last month, they go up, then down, then up, and down. Pretty much every 2 days, and they seem to be a little down. I did 45 seconds of research and found no looming bankruptcy That enough research right?

Is that chart citing revenue or profit? If revenue, I would guess that AWS has much better margins and possibly more profit.

Correct, total revenue. Low overhead AWS does hold profitability advantages over other segments, however, it is far from generating the most revenue. Identifying the difference is my point.

 

Yeah, it was a while back couldn't remember everything about it. I am not investing in AMZ it was something in passing.

 

careful, i know you're new to this thread but might be considered political natured comments to some. one of the mods is in this thread and they've locked it on us before for it.

 

WPC ran away from me adding more shares before earnings. Now I’m tempted to sell up 3.50 a share and hope to buy back in after a dip. I it doesn’t dip, I guess I’ll have to decide if I buy back in for the good dividend or invest elsewhere. Thoughts?

 

If you plan to buy and hold forever for the dividends, I wouldn't worry about $3.50 a share. At least that's how I look at it, I try to see 30 years out and assume it'll be worth more at that time, enough that you won't care about that $3.50 now.

Usually how I look at it also. I usually wasn’t watching a week after picking up the stock though
And market is a little funny. I could see buying in for 60 next week or 80. So I suppose I’m agreeing with you. Guess I’ll still wait for earnings. Either I get to buy at a dip, or I’m encouraged by the outlook and continued dividend strength and feel good about investing.

 

I'm buying 1 TECS a day until I get 20 shares. and putting in a sell order for $50/share updated to my total shares held each day.

Interesting play available right now for the 3x leveraged ETF DFEN. The $17 16Oct20 calls are now $0.60. I have 3 now. Seems like a nice gamble on a 79 day chance.
