    Yeah, because dickhead car dealers are highly trained metallurgists. Give me a fucking break.

    Yea this engine (and even the 4.0) will suffer from Timing cover leaks. Super rare to see it be more than a seep though

    The issue is not the metal. The leak happens at the points where the heads and block meet, and where the cam towers meet the head. The cover is made of the same aluminium as the block and heads.

    typically if the timing cover repair is done we put a little extra fipg in these areas. A 4.0 I did 4 years ago still hasn’t had a hint of a leak after 150k miles since the repair. It was leaking bad when it originally came in

    If you can get a spatula in there, I see Flex Seal has a paste now. Looks promising for $4,288 less than the dealer.

    Did the '16, '18, '19 have this problem?

    Spending $4k to fix a car is not that out of the ordinary anymore. It's almost common

    Yup, that's what you need to do with Apple products.

    87k Miles on our 16 now, Just discovered the timing cover leak: Having it done at a local shop for 1700 instead of the dealer. Sucks either way but too far in with this truck to not fix it.

    You don't understand? Apple products are junk. I have family visiting - 2 different iPads, 2 iPhones, they sorta might or might not work on my wifi. One of the iPads works consistently. The other says the password is wrong (it isn't), or it says it can't find it (ludicrous, I have 3 AP's covering the whole house). The phones do similar nonsense. It's junk.

    Oh, and if you think my Wifi sucks, I've got Ubiquiti enterprise-level stuff, and every single Android, Roku, PC, etc. works flawlessly.

    Hence:

    Apple = Trash
