New Tacoma 1k miles check engine light is on

    That's likely what set the code. But you still have to clear the code after correcting the problem. No harm done BTW.

    It shouldn't, but never say never. If you know how to recreate it (throttle application, etc) be sure to try and do that prior to leaving. If it still does it, turn right around. Get a tech to ride along and experience it. This has not been as common a complaint on '20's as previous 3rd gen years.

    Our 2021 with just 600 miles on it has had check engine light go off three times. Each time, it codes as a "slow oxygen sensor". First the dealer service department replace one of the sensors (they can't tell which one is bad, apparently). Next, same code and they replaced exhaust manifold. Now it's in the shop again "waiting on parts" with no time frame of when we might get our truck back. Not a good first impression.

    Lemon it and get another new one. I wouldn't even bother chasing problems one after the other, especially on a new car.
