Can’t Find a 2020 SR5 to Buy

My Bosses father is looking for a Black SR5 and said there is nothing out there. We work closely with a local big Toyota dealer and they said do to covid Toyota is behind in building Tacomas.

I checked their web site.

They have 14 Tacoma's - all 4WD.

Close, but no cigar.

 

It took years for me to find my SR 2wd in non white nearby. If I was willing to buy White it would've been a lot easier. If you want an expensive 4 door it's no problem, but a cheap 2 door is scarce. Now with the shut down I expect it to be even worse for a little while.

 

That pretty much sums it up P-Dawg.

If I wanted 4WD, it would be much easier. 2WD's are only about 3% of the new Tacoma's around here - upstate NY.

I'm glad you found the one you wanted.

Dealer doesn't offer much hope.

Just have to wait and keep looking.

For that matter give herb chambers or boch in boston a try...its where i had to go. Even lia toyota has a few dealers to pick from. While all these dealers in connecticut or ma. are nice people don't expect to get any great deals. i've found these states to have some of the highest prices by the time you get out the door.

I tried Zip Code 01602 for Wooster MA which should include Boston.

There are 446 Tacoma's. Only 4 are 2WD. Less than 1%.

I'll give Boston a shot which should pick up some more eastern dealers.

Just tried Boston. Same result.

I've been searching using Toyota's web site. That may not be the best. I'll try Auto Trader.

 

I didn't see that in your OP. Use CarGurus. It's pretty good.

 

I can tell you from my experience if you can't find it in boston only other place in the east might be in Pennsylvania.

 

I looked in PA and didn't find anything. There are two in NJ near Jersey City. Just about what I'm looking for in SR. Absolutely no SR5's in RWD in the NE that I can find.

Also, judging from most of the discussions on the forum, the Tacoma is a piece of cr@p ;-)
Plenty of Tacoma's (including SR5s) around but a 2wd anything truck is hard to find since there are only about a dozen people in North America that want one ;-)
