The 1st Gen: All pro 3” lift (650 lbs coils, expedition rears with bilstiens),Timbren rear bumpstops, ubolt flip, diff drop, carrier bearing drop, 33’s on beadlocks ,ARB Bumper, winch, hand throttle, ARE canopy, roof bars, poly bushings all around minus the body mounts. The 2nd Gen: Leveling kit, roll up tonneau cover. 265/75/16’s
Gotcha. Those races were a pain in the ass. I like that method! I was able to tap the rear on in with a brass drift, but had to shrink the front race to get it to go in. The first time I used the flange to pull the bearing onto the pinion, but decided I was probably going to mess up the threads if I kept doing it too many times.

Couple of diy upgrades today: replaced temporary OSB platform with top shelf ply, covered the tail gate which will now work as cutting board/beer and stove holder/ camp sign-in sheet. Also hopefully won’t tear up my shins climbing in as much.

Also made behind-the-seat platform to level the floor. Now a cooler can fit without tipping and my dog can sleep on it. Clyde approves. — Cass

If you still have the old springs around you could cut a couple down and make some add a leafs. I did this with two factory packs for awhile. Definitely wasn't ideal but it was better than nothing.

Rear brake hose arrived today. Quick and simple install. Brings me from +3 to +8 inch hose.

Wondering what part of that I did wrong...

I guess someone will tell me something here pretty quick... I'll wait

Looks like you've used 2/3rds of you available uptravel already.

Also wondering if you resi will hit your mounting bolt at full compression.

If you're worried about drooping out enough to need that brake line, you should also take your elocker wiring off that gas tank bracket.

Is that the kind of response you were waiting for?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

We've already discussed the up travel. My truck is loaded pretty good daily. If I were to give much more uptravel with it loaded as much as it is, I'd have 8 and a half inches of shock shaft exposed when I'm not loaded.

Resi will not hit anything on full compression.

The brake line was the only thing that go tight at full droop. It wasn't all the way tight that I needed 5 more inches of brake line (only needed maybe one or two more inches)... but it was either +3(.5) or +8 that I could find.

Yes... those are some of the responses I was looking for

Curious if when you wheel your rig, if you do that with no, or a lot less, weight in it?

Matt - I had a few questions a ways back, still curious about them...they probably got lost in the flare up :) @Uphillshunter
    • How do you use the truck on the trail (mostly) - speedy stuff or slower over rocks?
    • You mentioned not wanting to move the lower mounts down - is that b/c you are worried about hitting them on something, or for some other reason?
I think he said earlier that he adds just a little bit more weight - what he showed was loaded to "nearly the weight of a 1-week trip."

Absolutely not a speed demon here. I want to see the sights and relax while I'm in the woods. I do moderate trails fairly often. And as the truck progesses, the trails will get more technical. The speed, however, will not increase.

If the mounts go down, from where they are at currently, the shock will be the limit in down travel. Also, but less a factor... I don't really see the point in flipping the Ubolts and then turn around and mounting my lower mounts below where the Ubolts were originally.

Gotcha. I'm reasonably slow myself (compared to some I guess, maybe not compared to others), but also not doing much rock crawling. Probably similar terrain to you, really - at least at this point.

Mounts going down and shock being the factor - makes sense. What springs are you running that have that much droop?

The u-bolt observation is an interesting one. I did my flip just b/c I no longer needed the shock mounts down there, so figured I might as well do the flip; not b/c I ever hit anything there. And, those lower mounts are so beefy at 1/4" that I think they're safe when it comes to rocks.
