Without disclosing too much, yes, it allows easy/safe driver intervention to "encourage" the up shift when you feel it in that hang state. Mind you that hang is a blast around town but just isn't needed in cruising scenerios.

Interested also. I use ECT all the time expect I turn it off if using cruise on the highway. The shifting with ACC still bothers me but not as much when ECT is off. I assume you can just add a micro switch to trigger ECT when you put the shift in S mode and back to normal when its in drive.

Not sure I want to be a test dummy though...

Are you thinking of installing a momentary contact button (someplace convenient) for interrupting the ETC switch circuit when ETC is on ?

I'm close to 200 posts but I'd be entertained to possibly trying it out for you.

Something inline with that concept yes but I will disclose it all as I proceed. I think you're gonna like it if that idea appeals to you.

I think you might like the implementation based on your comment. Feel free to watch for updates. I am not touching S-mode or requiring it's operation.

Is this like a shiftsense pro where in ECT mode it controls where it shifts for you, via the different maps?

Just trying to understand what this product does and if I would have any interest in it.

Nope, much simpler. Details to come after the beta reviewers and then you can get a full picture for your consideration.

Ya had me until line 6! I don’t want to have to remove (if I don’t like it) or buy it (if I do) if I’m going to be a beta tester. My ECT always on module quit working the other day and I was going to remove it but for now I’ll just wait and see.

I woke up seriously considering providing it to the initial testers for free, just so you know where my head is at. I've invested a great deal of time but would be asking these few folks to do the same so it would be worth it.

Initial Tacoma sample mailed today to those who jumped through the hoops I request - thank you guys! I will update this thread once they provide feedback to me.

Also - still looking for a Tundra/Rav4 owner interested in this. Perhaps there is no interest.

While some have multiple Toyota platforms here, it is a Tacoma forum. Not a Rav or Tundra forum.

@tcBob runs a Tundra oriented forum as well, try there for testers. Tundras.com

Thank you, that is my next step. I just wanted to start with my fellow taco brethren (and sistren?) before join elsewhere. Solid advice though, thank you.

I have a few of the final products build, tested, and ready for sale. They will be posted in the BST 3rd gen forum this weekend. I will update this thread with the link when it goes live for those that are still interested. I have only made a few more but really refined the build and offering thanks to @5nahalf & @You Suck I Suck More for their helpful suggestions.

All product details and my continued posts will take place over in that thread.

    Cheers
