The Innocence Files was really good. If you don't get angry each episode something is wrong with you.
Evil Genius was great
The Epstein show was good but disturbing.
Bosch on Amazon Prime is damn good.

 

Concur. Some of that is beyond disturbing!! Holy wow THAT person is not human disturbing.

yeah I couldn't do the Epstein documentary, I'm normally not affected by much when it comes to TV/movies but the fact that shit really happened and still does right now and no one really talks about it....too frustrating.

 

Just the scheming alone is bad enough......then the shit and getting away with it and growing an empire based on it............

 

We watched "Radioactive" the Marie Currie story. I'm a bit bipolar on this one. I like the story. The acting is good. The flashforwards are decently pulled off - this is something that can be tough to do, relative to flashbacks. The best parts are just the presentation of the power of matter at the sub atomic level in a creative way. The ignorance of the dangers of radiation is flowing in the plot line as well. I had actually forgotten how Pierre died. Marie is a fiesty character and the history of her achievements exists - yes as a woman she was repressed, but the movie does it a way that is not lecturing the audience which seems like a common theme in so many "women's lib" movies.

There is one scene that bothered me big time and I think it will be a large put off for viewers with even a modicum of historical context. She (Currie) is speaking in narrative form about the possible criminal use of nuclear power in the hands of criminals (actual word) and flash forward to war time Hiroshima and an extremely peaceful, idyllic and dare I write innocent Japan scene and here comes the bomb from the USA. Well of course USA was the first and only, and the debate will rage if it was the right thing to do (as I think it should be debated) - but was it truly criminal? Nor Oddly no mention of what the USA did in the devastated areas after the bombs (not good). Nor any mention that we were actually at war.

Anyway if you are even close to a history nerd or worse a science history nerd - this movie might be worth a watch.

 

Old Guard on Netflix is pretty good.

I didn’t have high expectations but it surprised me.

 

Started watching "Last Kingdom". It's addictive.

 

Black Sails is is pretty freaking awesome

Wasn't too into it after the first couple episodes but it gets really good

Has anyone watched "The Americans"? Started it on Amazon Prime video yesterday, it's free if you have Prime. Holy shit- I am hooked. 6 episodes in so far- was watching on my second monitor while I worked yesterday.
