I went with Prinsu , UpTop is nice too. You really can’t go wrong either way.

I followed that guide but used nylon spacers as it was all I could find at Home Depot. And for the bottom two mounts, I used like 1/2" or 1" spacers to keep the awning away from my cab/doors.

For a while I was going to pull the trigger and go with the prinsu rack. That was until I saw on YouTube the uptop overland rack. I can't wait for it to ship and get to me.

I went with the Uptop because it's just the highest quality one you can get. I do wish I went with the inner color matched side panel, but oh well. The picture is just a good angle it doesn't fully match the height of the topper.

When I was deciding between the three, Prinsu matched pricing, and delivered in a week vs. 5 week estimate from others. Times change but this was a major factor.

Prinsu. Delivered in a week, shipped in 5 hours. Professional, and efficient. I contacted them about price match by Instagram.

So, this is probably a goofy question but whatever. Any of these racks distribute a lateral load well enough to be a good hammock anchor point?

The lateral forces would affect the M6 stainless build into aluminum threads.

Properly applied at the correct anchor point, I would not have a worry as multiple bolts support the lateral.

Replacing those bolts with screw eyes, and using a dual anchor system would mean no risk if damaging the side rails which are the weak point.

Apologies in advance for the really dumb question. I am researching roof racks for my 2020 TRD OR. I was looking to just get the standard OEM roof rack because for my needs it will be just fine. But not sure that it is still available (reading the threads here it is hard to get a definitive answer).

In any case, looking at a Prinsu versus UpTop. Both look great but one of the things that bothers me is when you look at the side of the rack installed and you see all of those steel screws. Can anyone confirm which rack has black screws? I know that is pretty dumb but all things being equal -- and both appear to be good racks from good companies -- that tiebreaker would be the rack that has the lower profile black screws. I suppose I could easily replace them but wanted to see which one came that way to begin with.

Sorry if that is a dumb criteria ... but, hey, it is all I got ... :)

You could also paint either ones relatively easily once installed and tightened.

I debated on both of these but ordered a FrontRunner instead.. waiting on it to arrive. The fiance got a new 4Runner and we are going to order one for her too. Feel like they have the most accessories and like how it looks to be honest.

Very true ... but I tried that once. Here in the Northeast the paint quickly fades and them I am constantly sanding and doing touch up, etc. I would rather tackle it once right out of the gate.

We do not offer black hardware because we have not found a suitable option. we use marine grade 316 stainless steel because it is both strong an will never rust regardless of climate. a lot of black hardware is zinc or oxide which is weather resistant but not weather proof. they will rust in due time. Our hardware is a combo of 1/4-20, m8 and m6
