How much is your CO registration this year? (2020)

He's (apparently) from Georgia though, so completely different tax system. I guess they pay a one-time 6.6% tax on initial titling for anything after 2013 instead of a yearly tax. Pre-2013 sales it looks like still work like ours where they pay a tax every year, so it's probably a lot higher or at least more similar to ours. And I'd have to wonder about what all goes along with that $20, if anything. I mean, we get road and bridge fees, safety fees, policing fees, all kinds of crap tacked on. I'm in the $80 category, but a lot of that isn't actually the plates/registration.

 

I guess I need to spell out COLORADO in the thread title...

 

Florida is similar.

 

Mine 2006 was $80 when I lived there a year ago, and my old bmw 335i was $76

 

I'm from GA and pay $65 for two cars (truck has wildlife plates) and I have considered moving to Colorado... now I am not so sure I want to move there. This is outrageous!

We used to have to pay an Ad-Valorem tax (a.k.a. birthday tax) to register our vehicles for the next year but they did away with that about 10 years ago. It is much better system now.
Guess I will just move to Florida instead lol

WTF kind of vehicle was that for?

 

If it's just the ownership tax, 1st year on $100,000 car or a $115,000 truck.
