OK, well grounding the wire out from the 4wd ECU didn't do anything where the 4LO and CDL lights lit up when grounded out to complete the circuit. So something is missing still for the 4WD light to work.

Probably a pin missing from the connector. I’ll see if I can see anything in the diagrams later.

Just for comparison. This was the matte finish paint. Much more of a grey color.

Started work on the base plate for the rear storage today after painting. Not done yet but the big part is cut.

So apparently, unplugging the 4WD selector disables VSC. Looks like the selector switch is yet another part of the system that I'll have to see if I can figure out how to remove it and keep VSC turned on.

I unplugged the selector switch since I'll have a manual shifting case soon enough. I also bought a 2wd radio bezel without the 4wd selector switch hole on ebay. Probably be mounting my CB mic in that spot.

Interesting. Got a link to that bezel?

edit: nm, I see it is the whole surround, I was thinking just a "cap" for the switch.

Also, do you need an ADD still?

Yeah, it's the complete center dash part. I just want to replace it for a cleaner finish look and because it's the perfect spot for the CB mic to go. Easily within reach while driving.

Getting the ADD axle from RST. They are part of the package for the FJ swap and they only charge $150 for the ADD axle. It should be out of a 2nd gen Tacoma. I save like almost $800 on the RST swap kit by sourcing my own FJ tcase, which is from a 2011 and looks practically new.

Post it up on the FJ or ADD thread and someone will pick it up.

Think I might have this figured out. Looking at the wiring diagrams, I think I can just ground out 1 wire for the switch and resolve the problem. I'll be able to check this weekend.

So this mostly worked, cut all wires you listed but still have green 4wd blinking, any ideas? I cut both the ADD and tcase harnesses off if that might matter.

Wonder if that is the ADD harness then? Do you still have the 4WD selector switch in the dash connected?

I disconnected my selector switch (4HI/4LO only since V8) and now I have the VSC lights on. I think I figured out how to trick the VSC computer to think that is still there but can't test that out until Friday.

Removing the White/green stripe wire from the 4WD ECU harness should have disabled the 4WD indicator on the dash. It should only be working if it's grounded.

I think. I'm no pro at this shit, sorry.

I posted green with white stripe first but looking at the diagram, it shows White with green stripe. Fuck.

I think it's the only white and green wire there, in either connector.

Sweet! What was the final resolution? So all warning lights off now and you have VSC back? I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to have a switch to enable/disable VSC when in 4WD, the same way it does when in stock form.

Just cut the white w/green, green w/white is still cut as well, no lights on at all! I assume VSC would work but haven't verified.

I have an ABS disable that cuts VSC as well, it uses a relay that interrupts one of the wheel speed sensor wires. Only "problem" is that you need to restart the truck to get it back off, but works well for me.

I am sure you can configure it to work like stock with the FJ case, but will need to put some time into the wiring (or get someone else to do it like you did for me :D). In the FJ case thread it shows what to do with the FJ sensors to make it work with the taco case, that would be a good place to start.

Yeah, I'll have to dig into it when the time comes. Still waiting for the shipping info from RST. Should be soon, they told me about a week before it shipped.
