That is true. I edited my previous post to be more specific and clear. I'm working so was typing fast and getting interrupted. Stupid work always getting in the way.:anonymous:

It should be noted, that not all the manuals have editable tune packs. I don't know how many do at this point. But as of this post, I only have the stock 04A70 tune as editable. Here is a conversation I had with Rafael. Granted, it was a month ago, but I have not seen the pack for this ecu released yet, and I did not see it in the latest update.

    It’s there a TSB and 04A71? I think 71 has a tune pack.

There is, but at the time it was still flash manager and my thinking was that I didn't want to bump my ECU and re invest for all the tunes. For now I am happy on SFOB 87 while I wait for editable versions for my ECU. Plus I get to the advantage seeing the development process from the other members working out all the details for the charging voltage and throttle tables, etc. in the mean time.

I’m being a lazy bum and don’t have enough time to read through this thread so I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. Anyways I tuned 2.0 and afterwards read that gear lock in S is gone. Well I happened to be in the truck and tried to see if it worked while in sport with ECT on. It shifted but it felt extremely rough. Just curious if gear lock still works? I tow a trailer once in a while weighing in at 4K and would like to have gear lock. Do I need to tune it back to stock before towing? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

In the currently available 2.0 final thats released gearlock and map switching is not available. They are still going to release other versions that have gearlock and performance builds.

Loaded the all stock w/5.29 gears tune yesterday and just driving around the neighborhood for a few miles is already leaps and bounds better than the old 1.5 tune I was using. Drives much smoother! Hope it only continues to get better as the first 500 miles elapse.

with that being said is it switching back to stock mode when I put gear lock on? Because it works but like I said in the past post it’s real jerky. Could that possibly cause problems with the computer or tranny?

It still behaves like stock S mode (No GL) but it is using the tune. I noticed shifting is rougher with S mode too which doesn’t make any sense.

To better, and faster, support our customers, starting in September we will only be responding to tickets directly related to:
    Vf tuner
    Vf tuner help / troubleshooting
    Tune packs,
    Installation and setup
And other things directly about our product(s).

Tickets or emails asking for suggestions, or platform support, requests for unrelated things, tire size recommendations, etc will just be given automatic responses or pointed to our FAQ.

We hope by doing this we can get back to customers who need assistance.

Updated my ECU to 04B04 (thanks @tonered !!) and flashed the correct 2.0.
I'm much happier than I was on 04B02 and 2.0. It's still not the dramatic change I was hoping for over stock, but I'm much happier than I was after my first flash.
Now I just need 2.0 Actual final to be released, need that gearlock!

Speculating here: In vF tuner there are separate throttle limit tables for S mode and D mode, and a dedicated optimal transmission torque table for S mode. It could just be that the ECU needs some time running in S mode to adjust its learning values.

Strangely, on the 04A61 stock file, throttle limits as a function of accelerator angle are lower in S mode than they are in D mode.

Good stuff! I just dropped a $1000 today on the tuner, the packs for the 3.5L, and a new laptop! After work I will pick up the computer and send over my registration info to you guys. After a year of debating I am happy to finally be getting this done. Keep up the hard work (Lord knows I am! lol) and thanks for the update.

Interesting that explains it. Not sure why It would be Set any different from “D”.... Once again I thought the tune was to minimize the unpredictability and weirdness of these trucks...
