I may be interested in camping but would take me a min to get up there. Been wanting to hit up Bee Canyon for some shooting. Not sure if fires are affecting this area..

Check out Black Mountain if you decide to go. Pretty sweet fire lookout.

I'll end up doing one or both of these and finding a camp site. I don't think there's any real wheeling in the area so that shouldn't be a concern.

The trail and yellow post is “open” on the Forest service site. The fire lookout tower is closed for visitors.

On second thought it's too damn hot up there....I'm down to camp in the local mountains, anywhere but the Mt Laguna area, I've been there too many times now. Haha

Now I'm confused. Blk Mountain near Idyllwild, not Ramona.

Bee Canyon is less than 30 min out of Hemet and I believe the trail goes over the mountain to the 243 near Black Mountain if you travel far enough. This is all about exploration and getting out of the heat.

Ahh ok, I'm looking to stay a bit closer to SD. I wanted to do Lusardi and camp in that area but looking at videos, doesn't look like there is any space to do that...plus I want to have a wood fire...I was even thinking of checking out Indian Flats CG

No worries. Just wanted to throw the idea out! It's difficult to find anywhere you can have a fire this time a year. Good luck.

I'm thinking of doing Idyllwild on Saturday too. I'll shoot you a text Friday. Just want to get away from the heat without running into all the nut jobs at the beach. I won't be camping. Just doing a day run.

Well your in luck. My skid just arrived this morning. The old skid is yours when we meet. You want the whole thing or just the rear portion?
