It’s unclear to me what people define as “sag”. Do they mean the spring rate it too small to reach their desired ride height regardless of other factors, do they mean their ride height decreases more than desired as they add weight, or do they mean the ride height decreases over time regardless of other factors? The ome springs have a lower spring rate than stock presumably to improve off road performance. This is a trade off with their ability to maintain ride height as the load increases. What is more important is up to you. I chose 600 lb springs with adjustable preload from king.

    I found this article interesting.

EDIT: if you’ve ever sat on a dirt bike, you know that it “sags”.

When I say sag I mean the ride height decreasing over time regardless of other factors. I have heard people buy the OME 888 coils and after it settles to 2 in of lift, a year later it has lost another 1/2 to 1 in. Here's a thread on TW about it I have read that I linked. I am new to lifting tacomas so this is all new and I just wanted to do my due diligence before making a purchase.

Which one of these Dakars goes on the drivers side?

I would put the one on the right on driver, put the minus on Passenger

edit: why? Gas tank and battery are on driver.

Thank you for your reply. Can anyone confirm this? I’m only wanting to put them on once :D

You'll get the same answer, but I would be more concerned about the amount of lift you will get. Will you carrying weight in your bed full time?

I already have Dakars in the rear. Just both have a + and the passenger side sits a touch higher than the drivers side. I’m kinda OCD about this kind of stuff so, when my buddy replaced his leafs, he sold me his. And no, I don’t usually cary a lot of weight in the bed. Eventually I’d like to get a steel high clearance bumper though.

    I concur !!!

    A (+) marking means the spring rate is slightly above manufacturer's standard (In this case, Old Man Emu (ARB));
A (O) marking means the spring rate is within manufacturer's standard; and
A (-) marking means the spring rate is slightly bellow manufacturer's standard.

It is common to find mixed kits, i.e. one spring being (+) and the other being (-). The (-) always goes to the passenger side to alleviate the infamous taco lean issue. There is more weight on the driver side due to the fuel tank and the battery.

This is information I researched for way back in 2013 and is still true.

Anyone have the part number for the rear Nitrochargers for use with the 3” Dakar pack? I broke a shock today and need to order new ones.

I have a suspension problem. With my pack of chewing gum, some paper clips, a box of matches, and my other MacGyver tools, my suspension is sagging. What should I do?

Looking to upgrade my Dakar mediums to heavys.

I know I need the AAL, u bolts (7.5 inch-ish?), 4 round spring isolators and leaf liners. I can find everything but the liner that the center bolt goes thru. Where can I source that?

    Am I missing anything else?

Mine squeek like hell already, hoping to avoid adding more. Maybe even buy the new thicker liners on the updated packs.

I'm having an issue with some 2888's I just installed. After install there is a 1.25-1.5" difference in lift in the front. The passenger side is lifted to the expected level while the driver side is low enough to rub on the inside fender after cutting (didn't rub before on 5100's with stock coils at the highest setting)

I called wheelers and they are saying it's taco lean and I need a 1/4" spacer. The shop doing the alignment is telling me that won't be enough to correct the issue, and I'm leaning on their side given that the lift on the driver side seems lower than the average results I'm seeing from others.

Mine don't squeak at all. But when I installed the aal I greased all the pads and blew all the sand and what it that was between all the leafs

Truck is my daily and stock weight with a potential ARB winchless bumper. So going 885s or 886s depending if the bumper works out. Will probably get the HD pack and remove the extra leaf.....but I'm stuck on the struts. 9000 firm vs 90021 soft ride struts, what reasons would you pick one over the other or is it just preference? Pros and cons?

Bonus question: despite being 28 I'm dumb with technology, is there a way to search a thread for specific words? I don't mind sifting through 624 pages but my boss probably does.

    https://arbusa.com/site/wp-content/uploads/toyotaTacoma.pdf

This is the application guide for Tacomas. This document suggest that if you are using 885s, your shocks should be 90021. On another side, 886s should only be used if you have extra weight from a bumper and/or a winch. 886s should definitely be paired up with 90000 shocks.

In the application guide, it suggest what should be used based on additional weight.

Years ago, I got 885s with 90000 shocks. The front is quite firm. When it will be the time to replace my shocks, I might consider using 90021 instead.

Does anyone know what weight rating is for the the old OME Dakar CS047R leaf pack? I also have the D29XL AAL installed and am trying to figure out if the new OME heavy duty (300kg) leaf pack EL112R will be equivalent to what I have or if I’m going to need a AAL for the new EL112R pack.

I was loaded down really good this weekend and was sitting about 3/4” off my superbumps and could tell I was hitting them over some bumps. May be time to upgrade if the new pack will be more heavy duty.

    Thanks.

Who's been running BP51's? I'd like to get a long term ownership review. How do they rack up against King mid-travels, comfort, maintenance etc...
