I recall reading that the stock ECU uses a different shifting logic routine in S mode vs D mode (simpler routine in S mode), so different tables would be required. Perhaps there are also different learning values for each mode, so even if OV made the tables identical in 2.0 the trans would still have to learn to shift smoothly in both modes. I am really deep into the land of speculation here though. I think OV did a good job minimizing weirdness in 2.0, but Toyota went so far into left field it seems, it might not be possible to completely eliminate all weirdness short of a complete aftermarket ECU.

Correct me if I am wrong please. If I am installing the Ovtune are all the most current TSB's included within the OV flash?
Is there a reason to update to the latest TSB in the ECU and then flash with the tune packs? Or will I get the latest TSB's when I do the flash?

At this time, vF / OVT do not send tunes that will also flash to the latest TSB. In the past, @OVTune has said this:
See the ECU Update link in my siggy for all the info and data.

Very noticeable. Before I update my ECU, I was not happy with 2.0. At all.

I’m sure this has been covered, but I searched and gave up in trying to find a solution...

I installed vf tuner and when trying to identify my ECU it has the option grayed out, meaning I can’t even select “Identify” to run the function. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and I get the same thing every time. Thoughts?

Did you reinstall your REG file? That is needed to unlock the Flash Tool.

Check to be sure that the System ID in the Flash Tool matched the REG filename.

Unfortunately, I had a recent MS Update that changed my System ID. I had to request a new REG file from OVT.
