So I’m two runs in, just finished my third climb back up. Sitting up here sweating my ass off

The bike is amazing. Definitely have a super long way to go before it’s ever holding me back. Have to figure out where a creak is coming from on hard climbs, but otherwise this thing is amazing.

The downhill at Ride Kanuga is also amazing. Have only ridden a green and a blue, so I haven’t ridden anything super heavy yet. It’s got flowy sections, nice burns, good doubles, nice jumps, etc. All well built.

a few sections will catch you out as they are slippery and you weren’t expecting it, but it did rain recently

the climb isn’t exactly great, but when are they. It’s 1.4 miles and essentially uphill the entire time for a gain or 550 feet or so. There are no super steep sections, but that constant uphill wears on you if you’re not in great shape (I’m working on it).

first climb was 18-20 for me. Second was 25. Third was 28. Some of that’s on me for not eating enough before and being low on energy.

I’m not an e-bike guy, but I can see that they’ll do well here and I can see why they are renting them out. That last climb these dudes absolutely flew up on me, I was so embarrassed at how slow I thought I was. Then I heard the whirl of the e-bike motor and saw they were e-bikes, so I felt so much better haha.

Definitely come check it out. If you’re from out of town, there’s camping here. I would do a monthly membership so you can come during the week and just plan on going twice to get your money back vs a day pass.

jury is still out on if I will commit to a full season pass eventually. Going to give it a few mo the and compare it to just driving to Pisgah

I’ll be interested to see how they do, seems like a tough sell. $30 to ride for the day and you still have to pedal to the top, when you can ride Pisgah for free...

That said, I’d be down to check it out. Anyone in for a mini trip out there in August? Maybe the weekend of the 15th? We could even through a little trail ride on Hurricane Creek in if there was interest in some light off-roading.

May be in Atlanta with family. If I’m not, I’m in!

there is a gravel road that goes to the top. Could shuttle. But, it’s only wide enough for one vehicle. So you could only run one shuttle at a time unless you had the timing down

All done for the day. Had a great time. Managed to get too high in a loose berm and have the bike slide out from under me on the last run. Very forgiving section though!

I’m in Atlanta pretty often! Next weekend may be the weekend of the 15th.

my fiancées brothers live down there and we are godparents to our 5 month old niece, so we like to see her as much as we can.

they live in Marietta- not sure if that’s close to you but I’m sure I can sneak out for a ride each trip down!

Not close to me. But I’m also not close to any of the decent trails. Blankets Creek/Rope Mill/Alatoona are all in the Kennesaw/Canton area. It’s about an hour drive for me to get to those but I try to get up there every so often.

My ‘local’ trails are just at a city park. Nothing to make a trip for, but better than nothing.

We usually get out and fish at a park just down from the alatoona dam. Great disc golf course right there too

good to know there are good trails right there! I’m down to give them a run with you next time!

Dirty hippies and your disc golf. Joking. I used to play a good bit. Haven’t touched one in over 6 years now.

Yea being in Marietta within a short drive of most all the better trails around ATL.

I just view it as my way to get out and “golf” without it costing $60. Its free and not nearly as serious! Plus my pup loves going

Sweet! Trying to get one of her brothers down there into mountain biking so that will help
