    Hi folks...

I'm finally ready and able to purchase another lens which I want specifically for Milky Way photography. I'm looking for something mid grade, wide angle ( obviously ), $300-500, hopefully 1.4. I've got a Canon 80D.

    All suggestions welcome.

What do you want? Wide angle in a zoom or prime?

    He wants zoom. Ha ha.

    I’d say something like a 16-25mm f2.8.

I want the new Sony 12-24 G Master, lists for $2999. Realistically I’ll end up with a previously owned prime. Zeiss has a 18mm, previously owned, possible.

not as wide angle but I’m quite happy with the new Tamron 17-28 F2.8. And it’s only a fraction of the cost with great performance on stills.
