That is an interesting question. If you look at the US, we seem to have an extreme weather or geological or some other weird environmental factor that affect the quality of life.

Thinking about this, western OR might just be it?

WA would be a close second.

Both are temperate year round with plenty of water? What else would you need in an apocalypse?

I was thinking Tennessee or Kentucky (It probably makes a difference where you're from though).
Both states have low(ish) tax rates and there are areas in each where a person could (possibly) shield themselves from a large portion of catastrophic weather.

Negative, your putting words in my mouth. Never said no such thing, just like everyone down south used to complain about all the snowbirds moving down here to retire. If I could have found decent job in Denver back in the early 80's I'd have stayed there. So many places to go and see. I cruised all over that state in my 82 Toyota Pickup. had a blast.

Those maps should be covering more of TN. We get some EF1 tornados around here. I have also seen damage from 90MPh straight line winds.( taking out trees and power lines, barns, sheds and mobile home) also we get some flooding. I guess I can’t forget the chances of damaging hail that we can sometimes get.

oh and it don’t look like it shows us getting earthquakes... I have felt several falling in the 2. and 3. Rang.
