Take a look at Middle Eastern Airlines. Emirates First Class is insane.

I had a first class flight booked on British Airways but I had to cancel my trip because of COVID. It's been a dream of mine to ride on the upper deck of a 747.

A dream thats slowly fading away. Insider reports say that due to Covid a lot of airlines are streamlining fleets. Expect boneyards to fill up.

When I drive to Vegas, we always pass by the Mojave Boneyard. It's always really stunning to see in person, it's massive.

Gonna be a lot massive-er here soon. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thepointsguy.com/news/delta-air-lines-smaller-coronavirus/amp/

For Delta to ditch the MD90, MD88, and the 717 is huge. They are pretty much the only major operator of that aircraft left. Add in most of their 767's and thats a lot of planes to junk. And their not the only airline doing it.

I cant even name an American carrier that still operates a 747 thats not cargo.

Surprised people still run the MD's.

I think British Airways is one of the last major airlines to run 747's for passenger service. The A380 is brand spanking new in the grand scheme of things, but it's so humungous that airlines are beginning to retire them.

Delta went around buying all the MD's they could when other carriers got rid of them. Its cheaper to operate on shorter routes that dont get a lot of customers.

The trend is going towards single deck twin engine jets like the 787-10, and A350 for long hauls and the A320 Neo and 737 Max 8's (sometime soon hopefully) for shorter routes.

I've got a 737 Max 8 model sitting on my desk.

Never realized how many of them are out there till I saw pictures of them grounded, pre-COVID. Just whole airports stuck with useless airplanes.
