That road does not go through. We've been down both ways to the river and both dead end, even tho the map shows a spur. It's tight and rougher coming down from N side.

Yeah I knew it showed a "ford" on the map, but then the road looked like it came out the other side and into some switchbacks. If I had my hubby with me I would have walked down the path to take a look but didn't want to do it by myself and leave the truck parked. Other reason I turned around is since I had already driven underneath some leaning trees to get that far and didn't have my chainsaw with me I didn't want to take a chance on it being worse after the crossing and have to cross again. Not much water but no chances when by myself. Thanks so much for the info.

You're welcome :) I made it all way to river from both sides, but no way I'd cross it

Good to know. My other reason for trying was to scout a good fishing spot so good to know from someone who has been there. This is why I love the group.

Coming from the south going north there's a turn out before it dead ends on the left that goes upstream a little ways. I've fished there. Better fishing on Piney tho in the long pools just above and below the hwy123 bridge. If you turn N like you're going to carwash falls off 123 by the bridge, those pools on the left are great spots for small mouth, kentucky and black bass.

So coming from Haw Creek Falls area I would cross the Big Piney on the Hwy 123 Bridge and immediately turn North (Left) and fish those pools on the left? Also I have never been to Carwash Falls but would love to know where it is. My old full size truck I just traded for the Tacoma was hard to maneuver on some of tighter forest roads so I didn't explore Big Piney Area much until the last two months.

Correct. I’ve fished up and downstream of the bridge but river access is better upstream from that road.

Thanks, I may have to explore some more this weekend. Kind of a long drive from Bryant but I love it up there.

Once you turn N on that road, just stay on it. You'll cross Hurricane Creek and Car Wash will be past the crossing a ways. Can't miss it. It's a large over hang with water that runs right on top of your vehicle. It may be dry this time of year though, but super scenic in that area. If you continue straight, there's a loop that runs all the way back out to Cowell on Hwy 7, and borders Hurricane Creek Wilderness on the N side before it climbs steeply up to Hwy 7. You can see it on map. That's a great area. Any questions, let us know. Many of us have done multiple runs in that area.

Edit: If you live in Bryant, we're neighbors. I'm in West Pulaski not far from Sparks Rd. on Lawson

I saw you posted on Ih8mud in the RLC clubhouse. I didn't know you had a Land Cruiser! Looks like the RLC event is cancelled as well.

Hey Man. Yep. That's a new addition from January. Looks like Rendezvous is still a go. Hopefully, I'll be going up for that one. I have been rushing to get several mods in place before October. I can relax a little and take more time since the Crawl has been called off. Next year will be better.

Since it is close by, we can always get a group to go to HS ORV. Last weekend, I got to explore around Cedar Creek Lake trails in Jessieville -- off Trail 86 -- HWY 7 just past Hollis.

Yep we do. Pete and I camped at the lake last fall and I acutally caught a couple bass. You’ll have to come join us some time.

Took advantage of the slightly cool overnight weather and camped by the Mulberry river then checked out some trails off Morgan Mountain Rd.

Here's one of all of us at Cedar Lake on that trip. We have all upgraded our sleeping arrangements now. Especially Matt...

    Lake.jpg

And here's one of a lunch stop on a group run we did. Look at Aaron's hair! I think Lee took this one. Me, Rich, Aaron, Pete, Lee and his wife, Dave and Alisha, and Doc and his son. It was watermelon time. This was Rendezvous weekend 2018. Looking forward to more like these this fall.
