Resin is less squeaky right? Metallic more so but last longer.

Pretty sure I got the resin super squawk model. I assume that’s what comes standard on XTs these days.

    Typically sintered pads come standard.

Well, it's official, I give up. I called almost every Transition dealer in the Western U.S., but I couldn't find a black medium X01 Spur anywhere. I really wanted to pick one up for my return trip across the country at the end of August, but it looks like it's going to be my trusty 'ole Mojo3 again instead (which is certainly not a terrible situation by any stretch!) As for the Spur, it will just have to wait until October or later. So be it. :notsure:
If anyone has an inside line on the bike I mentioned above, please let me know by pm. I'd buy one over the phone tomorrow if I could just find the damn thing. :spending:

Ive been bi-pad curious for some time. :anonymous:
But most of the time just love having the power of sintered. The Hayes have crazy good modulation so haven’t needed to try it out yet.
    Am I missing something?

I’ll shamelessly take a century club gift I didn’t earn. They’ll pair nicely with all the Trek water bottles I have that adorn my non-Trek bike.

Really? Wouldn’t they wear at different rates?

edit; do you mean metallic in front, resin in rear or did you mean different pads on each side of the caliper?

The trendy new thing is one of each on either side. You can thank Greg Minnar for posting it a few months ago

Kinda like my bastard XTR/Saint setup. But different materials on each side seems like more maintenance, at least would have to be checked for pad wear more often I would think...

The inner and outer pads already wear at different rates. Use resin inner, metallic outer

For sure would wear differently, though not a concern for those guys... Supposed to be a middle ground between resin and sintered. Resin having a better initial bite, and sintered having more power and fade resistance.
Formula (or is it Magura?) have developed a resin pad that they swear have the best of both worlds. Have yet to try them though.

Speaking of brakes; I'm about to ditch the beloved Hayes. I honestly think they are the very best brake I've ever used, but I have one beef with them, parts availability. I've been damn close to skunked on 3 trips due to that. One in Europe when my rotor got bent in transport and couldn't find the right replacement (Hayes use thicker rotors than standard), another time in Europe when I crashed and broke my clamp. And last week in SLC when I cut my line and couldn't find a replacement (thicker than standard), not even a damn barb (which is proprietary).
That last one convinced me that I just need to replace them with something that have more parts availability. I'd love to check out the new TRP DHR or the Formula Cura, both of which look super promising. But man, I'd be in the same boat with parts availability.
So, might to back to Codes. Unless anyone here has any other suggestions?

**Shimano are off the table for me. Absolutely loathe that damn wandering bite point.

Thanks man. I was out town a good part of the month so I wasn’t expecting to complete it. Lady friend did too and we certainly don’t need two mugs
Send me your local trek dealer. Has to be picked up there, but all yours
