    Hi All,

I have a 2019 TRD Sport (cav blue with manual transmission for those curious) and was thinking about upgrading my head-unit to one from Crutchfield that has Apple Carplay. I was just curious about what functionality is lost when you go to an aftermarket head-unit (even with the iDatalink Maestro), and then in addition what head-units you all recommend to keep the most functionality possible.

Thank you in advance for all your help!!

I just upgraded mine to the Pioneer DMH-WC6600NEX. Fits flush with a little bit of work and fits the premium bezel perfectly. The only functionality that I lost was the compass and the turn by turn directions on the screen above the steering wheel but your going to lose those with any aftermarket headunit. I still have the compass in my mirror and being able to use Waze and Google maps on a big beautiful screen make you forget about losing those in a hurry.D8DEC2C9-6407-4897-833B-D6813A7B3CDA.jpg

I have the Pioneer DMH-WT8600NEX with the 10.1" screen. Like the last guy said, I only lost in dash compass and turn by turn. I kept everything else with the Maestro RR. 20200729_165004.jpg

Did you have to get the XM tuner as well or did the factory XM connect with the iData Link Maestro? About to order this.

You have to get a XM tuner but if you get the antenna adapter cable from Metra you can use the truck's XM antenna instead of the antenna that comes with the tuner.
