Gonna pull the code when im off, finally popped yesterday when it was rough idle on startup and i feathered the gas. P sure its the #3 injector gunked up bc the trucks been stinking more too. Only rough startup sometimes for 5-10 sec before settling, and a high rpm missfire still

I've had an intermittent CEL for months. I don't disconnect battery or clear it with OBD11 tool. Last known MIL was P0420 which cleared itself after replacing B1S1 and B1S2 with genuine Denso a/f and O2 sensors.
I haven't been able to scan while CEL is on but scan after CEL goes out shows nada, zip, zilch. WTF
Any idea? The Y pipe donut gasket is my guess because P0420 would be the only code for exhaust leak or am I mistaken?

New gaskets when you installed 02 sensor? Reusing an old one could create a leak.

In my experience (I have the same 2.7 and code issue) it's my whole CAT. Started with an intermittent light like you described and no history of code when it would go out. Now it's on all the time and I've got a nice strong gas smell when I sit and idle

Haha, yeah whats bugging me most is its keeping me from throwing the lift on bc i wanna make sure i have money to fix if the case be. Yeah, gonna pull the injector tn if its still #3 missfire and see whats up. Hopefully its just bits of plastic i can smack or dig out and thats it, but who knows with my luck

Yes, new gaskets, studs and nuts. I also cleaned flange surface well and looked for pits n cracks. Cat heat is optimum and no stinky just normal drops of water from tail pipe. Manifold is A ok also.

if it's leaking coolant into that cylinder only I would expect so. Though the plug that came out should have been steam cleaned if that was the case
