Maybe during the week, after I know the kits on the way. I plan on doing the instal during a weekend tho. I don’t think your that far from me, just depends where in Street you are. I’m near 22 and 543.

I’ll at least offer him mine too. The blue/black and black/blue will look good!

Hi all, new here, been building up my tacoma in the hopes of doing a trip over to Oregon with my wife, hitting up black hills and yosemite on my way. I haven't been offroading since I was in highschool though so I'd like to meet up and learn from people.

Also wondering if anyone here has a GFC, I have a shell right now but the floor is always covered in sand so having a sleeping platform that doesn't keep my bed from being used would be great.

 

Yea, once you get the bushing I will PM you my cell number. Like I said, during the week I am here all day and on the weekend I can be home or out and about running errands. I'm all the way up 543 north closer to Pylesville. But we could meet in Hickory or wherever.

One tip I learned from @EatSleepTacos on that bushing install is to put it in the freezer a couple of hours before you start, and leave it in there until the axle is ready for it. It will contract and go in easier.

 

I'd say that, and shoving a plastic baggy in the diff so you don't drop the removal tool in are the two most important things during the ecgs bushing install.

 

Ha! Yea Tom, when I see old ads for cars I shake my head sometimes. Especially those older muscle cars that are way beyond my reach now.

Sounds like a plan. I’ve got the bushing, just need the lift kit. I’ll definitely have to remember those. Used to freeze or heat up bushing on aircraft engines. Once the kits on the way I’ll pm you for your number.
I’ve read that the bushing can be replaced without removing the axle/hub nut, I might try it that way.

That is the most important thing I need to remember. Also to have the drivers side higher than the passenger to not lose any oil.

 

It can and saves a little time but can make the CV harder to remove only because you have to use a prybar to remove it. If you undo the hub nut and swing that out of the way then you can get a slide hammer on it. It's worth trying though to save a little time.

 

I’ll give that a go first, hopefully with under 3K miles on my truck it won’t be stuck... but then it might be since nothing is that worn in yet. I’ll have all the tools just in case.
