You most certainly can. I gave a pretty good example of how. I'll state as an overtone; most people have to play with this idea and figure out your own ranges. What is the minimum amount of work you need to grow and what is the maximum amount of work you can recover from. Pick a value above the MEV and work towards MRV. When you feel like you've hit a wall or you can't match/beat last weeks work then deload. Rest for a week and pick it back up.

Help me out here, there are more ways to skin a cat. What's your training philosophy, or better yet, how do you perceive the general "rule of law" for training. Are most people, in your opinion, training too hard or not hard enough?

I'll agree with you that the first week feels way too easy, but at week 7 it feels like its too much work to get done in one session. I wouldn't say week 1 is a deload, but moreso about 1.5 times the work. Usually there is always an increase in weight, reps, and sets the first 3 weeks. As systemic fatigue accumulates I begin to just match reps and if i can go heavier I will, or if i cannot i'll add a set and get whatever reps are there on weeks 5-7.

I would be worried about losing 14.8 weeks a year of training too. But its not, deload helps to push the next meso higher, the science is sound on this, and if you set week 1 of your meso above minimum effective volume then you are still stimulating growth.

But in all seriousness, if you train with increasing volume or weight, you are jacked, loving life, drive a taco :), and never have to deload. Fuck yeah brother. Keep it up. You'll not hear complaints from me.

Here's an RP article for those on the sidelines reading our conversation:

Welll she doesn’t need to worry about concert tickets much right now...

Unfortunately. I actually have tickets for October. I normally don’t concert because of my anxiety but the one time I get tickets... COVID... damn

    You’re contradicting yourself now.
First you said volume and intensity should increase at the same time. Now you’re saying the “work” which is volume, is increased by 1.5 times in the beginning.

The best music was made prior to 2000. 1940-2000.
    Classic country is my jam.
I wish George Jones was still alive :(

New music is great too but not the same, especially country.

I concert 20 plus times a year but....to be fair I only really got heat for the Misfits show last fall but that was a costly weekend.

Well perhaps this is a way of the universe guiding you more towards something like Danzig

    Messed up my first reply.
the article you linked is saying the same thing I am!148EFC82-2A37-4B8B-9FAA-6F3383AA2FDC.jpg
You most certainly can not progress volume and intensity at the same time. Can you say it with me now?

With extremely light and ineffective weight you can do anything, we already knew that.

To be fair neither do I, at least the last 20 years worth of it. Plus Lars Ulrich is a ginormous bellend.

Perhaps some KISS would be your thing..
