Tell her to come out side and start sanding on the bed, then you get stuff done and your spending time with her too. My wife won't go for it but maybe yours will. :)
Great build, how much money is this ''farm'' truck going to have in it? I want to do the same thing for a woods truck. I'm in the middle of a repaint now so I need something to beat the brush with other than my newly painted Tacoma or my work truck, it's a z71 Silverado dc so it gets all jacked up in the woods.

As best as I can count... I have just at $4k in the truck... And I can make the 100 miles daily drive to work and back without a worry in the world. :D

Thats awsome, you did a great job. If you could do it over again anything you would change?

Yes... I would do it a LOT different...

*I would had started with having it put on a frame machine to make sure the frame was straight before any more work was down.

Before the front structure was welded on, I would had taken the cab completely off and sanded down the entire frame and repainted it first... Also, when the rear end was out I would had wire wheeled it and painted it...

Basically, I would had just dove in all the way right off the bat rather than just trying to fix it in the start. Thats about all I would had done differently.

So I did exactly what you did with your transfer case leak, it seemed to fix my problem.

    How about you?

Kudos! That was an awesome read and follow along with the pictorial. Hat off to ya man, a TON of work went into that rig.

I have to ask, early on you mentioned employment as a teacher... shop teacher? Old skool rope in the window channel... I've done that in years gone by, works well. A young guy with a smokin' hot wife and a far bit more skillz than the shade tree wrench, not to mention the body work knowledge.

    Damn nice job.

Yeah, finished it around October. been beating it around since. Banged it up a little as well. Putting a snow plow on it next week.

I am having some running issues with it, but nothing major as of now. I am hoping to work on it more this spring/summer. Looking to tub front fenderwells, cut out the fenders, bob the bed. Relocate rear shocks. and make a new rear bumper.

Back to cutting, grinding and welding on the ol' Yoter....

I am trying to put a snow plow on the front and its just not working out as I had hoped. I have no factory bumper mounting hardware.... my nuts inside the frame cap had broken loose, so we ended up washing the welds off the caps, pulling them out, doing some grinding... and made new end caps with 5/8" Grade 8 flange nuts welded to the inside.

The snow plow brackets are made to hang over the OEM bumper crush cans... but since i don't have those... we will be making them tonight with any luck.

Here is where I was at with the snow plow. I had to remove the entire front bumper.

Bumper bracket will not fit now...

Cut out the factory frame caps... made new ones with 5/8" Grade 8 flange bolts/nuts.

I hope this nut doesn't break lose...

One new cap tacked in spot...

Front of the frame is done now...

Tonights plan is to take the plasma cutter to the bumper bracket and make some boxes that will work in place of the factory crush cans to help support the weight of the Snow plow.

    Mechanical Update....

The only length of wiring in this truck that I had not changed was the rear harness that runs from the cab to the fuel tank and tail lights... Well my lights were shorting out something awful... and that was just the beginning of the issues... So I changed that harness out. My taillights all work perfect now. However I still have the other issue...

I am chasing down a miss.. and its kicking my a$$. The truck will run fine and then all of a sudden it hit a miss. Seems like its either loosing spark for a moment or fuel... A couple times it has just died out all together. Hit the clutch and it will fire right back up and run fine.

I have a New Fuel Pressure valve (for lack of proper name), new fuel pump, new fuel tank, new fuel pump relay, new plugs and wires... The ignition coil that looked to be the old one has replaced... Still got a miss....

I have a new fuel filter that I am wanting to change, just gotta get the plow down first.

Also.... engine wise... I have a NASTY oil pan leak.... But I gotta wait till I can get my Mustang back together and out of my garage before I take that one on.

I am thinking of making a movie instead... A short film of the Mayhem that can come from a flat black tacoma... I look along the road every Trash night for a TV to be sitting there... ESPECIALLY now that I have a skid row skid plate....

haha. Movie would be pretty sweet.

Out of curiosity, how much did it cost when you got the frame rebent to make it straight?

    $50

    :D

A good friend of mine is the body shop manager. So it said and waited until there was nothing on the frame machine. And being that it was winter time... it took about 4 or 5 months...
