Im leaning that direction. But I won’t pretend I have any idea how long this drags on or what happens in the fall. If I were in charge of one of these companies, I wouldn’t be making the vaccine top priority.

 

a vaccine for this specific virus? Nope. Corona viruses as a general vaccine? I’d be stressing that a bit.

right now I’d be funneling all the research elsewhere though, let Pfizer take the COVID flag and then win the next 10 because they didn’t have anyone focused on other stuff.

 

Good point, we haven’t figured out the common cold (which is often caused by a coronavirus), so you’re probably right.

 

From everything you see, they mutate too much for anyone to see it as a worthwhile endeavor. But I think Apple or AMZN or one of the big tech companies was secretly working on this at one point

and my take on it: the ceo of Kodak doesn’t need self options to get rich. The risks involved in that are mental, they could have done that with any other company and had almost no suspicion thrown their way. Plus they’re a ceo and probably already pretty well off.

Yea, this isn’t really anything but looks strange. As ceo he already has shares and options to buy more. This was just the board saying he could buy more. He won’t be able to sell them for a period of time. Had he had a cousin buy a bunch of stock and then sell it when it spiked, that would be insider trading. This won’t really do him much benefit unless he leads the company to some measure of success moving forward.

 

...and when we find out a bunch of "cousins" of the Senators on some sub committee all bought calls...

Funny how some Conveniently forget how well the economy was doing before the sniffles started and weirdly relish a bad economy over a thriving one with everyone happy.

I invite you and everyone else here to listen to Peter Schiff on Joe Rogan from two weeks ago. He discusses the fact that our economy was basically a bubble and that bubble has popped and you cannot reinflate the bubble. There is a dramatic reckoning coming for a large portion of the service industry as it relates to bars and restaurants, Air travel hotels etc. whether you believe what he says or not his conclusions are solidly founded. They are a likely outcome of this as likely as any other estimate of what will come of this. I would not discount his findings as he was one of those who accurately predicted the housing bubble crash and bet against the housing market to make a lot of money. I always listen at 2X speed because I just don't have that kind of free time. It drives my wife batty. She'll walk in and block her ears and go "oh no it's super fast no no no no no !"

Yeah if it wasn’t the Rona we were due for something pretty soon. Maybe not to this extent and unemployment and government involvement and worldwide impact all at once. But. Definitely a down turn.

 

It's no just AZN. MRNA, INO, and PFE are all down 5% or so from last weeks highs. There's just to many horses in the race for anyone of those to really spike unless they complete the phase 3 studies. I'm holding 700 shares of INO that I've been writing weekly calls on for the last month. It was holding above my cost basis, This week it went under my cost basis for the first time. I'll keep writing calls until it recovers or it goes 25% under my cost basis.

 

At least they are October calls so I've got some time to play with fluctuations. They did not have a lot of time value priced in when I bought them, which is why I bit on them.
