My 2020 SR 4x4 4cyl access cab has the convenience package. My SR truck came off the lot with/without the following:
    1. Intermittent wipers --- not standard in prior year SR models
    2. TSS -- Standard on everything I believe after 2017
    3. Keyless entry -- convenience package adds this
    4. Power windows/locks -- standard on everything I believe
    5. Lane departure warning-- comes standard on everything I believe
    6. Color keyed door handles and bumpers
    7. Android auto/Apple car play -- not available in the SR in prior years
    8. No vanity mirrors - cant figure out why they skimped on this
    9. No badges -- except the 4x4 on the tailgate
    10. Pre wiring/fuses/relays for foglights
    11. Pre wiring/relay for bed lights
    12. Rear jump seats
    13. Backup cam -- standard on everything I believe
    14. Touchscreen display -- standard on everything after 2017 I believe

I don't own an SR Utility package, but I wanted one to save some money ---- the deal breaker for me was that the utility package does not have Jump Seats which I need.
SRUP (from what I gather) has:
    1. No Intermittent wipers --- not sure about a 2020
    2. TSS -- Standard on everything I believe after 2017
    3. No Keyless entry -- need convenience package which DELETES the Utility Package
    4. Power windows/locks -- standard on everything I believe
    5. Lane departure warning-- comes standard on everything I believe
    6. Black door handles and bumpers
    7. Android auto/Apple car play -- not available in the SR in prior years
    8. No vanity mirrors - cant figure out why they skimped on this
    9. No badges -- except the 4x4 on the tailgate
    10. NO Pre wiring/fuses/relays for foglights -- May be different on a 2020
    11. NO Pre wiring/relay for bed lights --
May be different on a 2020
    12. No Rear jump seats
    13. Backup cam -- standard on everything I believe
    14. Touchscreen display -- standard on everything after 2017 I believe

I needed jump seats and I also wanted the factory wiring available for adding lights in the future. I can tell you that for less than $400 and in about 1.5 hours in my driveway I installed the factory foglights and bed lights. This can be done much cheaper, but I wanted the factory bed light switch $60 and the factory fog light light stalk $90.

So for me this truck has way too many bells and whistles coming from my 02sr and 96. By no means would I call it bare bones. It has every modern convenience I could want ----- except for damn vanity mirrors (my 96 and 02 dont have them either)

I was going to go for a higher trim level but the money I saved was worth it especially for a 4x4.

Not gonna lie, I fell in love with the TRD Sports and Pro's but pushing 50K for a pro? Hard pill to swallow.
I realize it's a lot of truck, but that is a lot of money right now given my current state.

I figure with the money I saved on a new 4x4 base trim, I can always upgrade the truck to what I want.
Bilstein 5100's, some AT tires new Rims. You can even add in the fog lights.

I mean basically a pro starts it's life as a SR. I have seen trucks that started out as a SR that are now a Pro.

I guess it comes down to you either get it all upfront or you put it on after.

Edit: I have already done my first mob by removing the front air skirt. That dam thing hits everything on a trail lol.

Yeah. SR = make it what you want. Plenty of take off parts here on forums for 80%off. Just saw an OEM OR take off suspension setup with 500 miles for $200 in the f/s thread. That's cheap.... I have OEM tube steps for sale less than 500 miles and less than half price. Bought new OEM take off fog lights for $35.. cant beat that.

    You go from this:
    20200315_184155.jpg
    To That:
    20200725_151125.jpg
    Without spending an extra 20k.

This truck has everything I'll ever need, and if a situation arises where that isn't the case: these member forums, parts availability, and a few tools will be helpful in just about any upgrade you could possibly want to do.

Thanks for the info guys. the SR model does seem tempting. I have no need for 4x4 or to go off road. So that was no biggie to me.

We always have snow by Halloween, and with as wet and cool as Fairbanks has been this “summer” it’s either going to be an early winter unless this wet crap drags out in to November.

I bought my 2019 SR Access cab utility new last year, it was exactly what I wanted, a reliable truck, great storage room in the cab without the jump seats, and a long bed, a reasonable (which means low for me, lol) price. I've now done the "Trifecta" of SR mods to it - Intermittent wipers, OEM fog lights, and Keyless entry, all thanks to advice here in the forum.

New wheels/tires plus front spoiler removal makes a big difference. 17 in TRD Pro wheels in the gloss gunmetal color. 255/75/17 Continental TerrainContact A/T. Stock suspension.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take the front spoiler off of mine or not, but I think this solidified that, looks good!

Is that stock, or is there a lift? Wasn’t sure if the 255/75/17 rubber when stock height. I’m looking to change mine out from the dealers 245/75/16 to black, was planning on 265/75/16 but may do what you did. Looks good!

Nice write up brother. I wound up keeping it as simple and cheap as possible.. I got some cheap clip on deals for 2.99 each from napa. Obviously no lights and the factory look and finish isnt there like you've got -- really nice info and research on your part.
