Anyone got a spare 3/4” shackle laying around they want to sell me? Mine found its way back to nature somewhere on the gold lake trail.

Help! I'm going to be in NorCal soon and hoping to do some fishing. I was Planning on being able to fish first thing Sunday morning. My question is do I have to have a HARD COPY of my fishing license or will a picture of my license work on my phone. I was planning on buying the license today or tomorrow online.

i think THINK they just need to scan the code on it. But its pretty easy to pick up a paper one to make sure you have it on hand.

Yeah I know. I'm leaving tomorrow and was hoping to crash somewhere in south lake and wanted to be able to wake up and fish right away. I spoke with a gal at an office in gridley and she didn't know and forwarded me to someones voicemail.

ETA. She did say that most places aren't open for license sales due to the pandemic. This true? I figured with the whole social distancing thing it'd be better to purchase online anyway.

Gotta say, working for the state would have been nice. Transparent California gives you an idea of how well many jobs pay, not just state but county gigs as well.

I'm going to be looking around. Banking might be the quicker start with what my degree is (project management). Most places that are hiring for it want years of experience i just don't have.

County and state are on the list too. City would be, but I think Woodland people are pretty entrenched in their jobs

I would consider city, county, state (many agencies to choose from), federal (many too), water districts, transportation, or utilities. All of them pay well, have good benefits, and you must really screw up to loose your job. I would also look at positions below project management. The best PMs are those who worked their way up and understand the ins and out of the projects (not just how to do the PM tasks in the office).

Most of these employer options have job boards that you can sign up for email notifications.

Also as encouragement, all of the districts, municipalities, and agencies I work with are having a large percentage of their staff retiring now and over the next 5 years so there should be opportunities for you to get in as existing employees move up.

Never underestimate the job requirements. I often think people write "10 years experience" to weed out the under qualified. But in my own opinion, sometimes you call the low time guy because something about the resume says you should. If I absolutely must have a sr, that's one thing. But often, it's better to find someone you can grow.
