You don’t need to get a retune, but the question you need to ask yourself is why did I install headers?

Basically if you want to get the most performance out of headers then update tune. If just for sound purposes then leave be. I think that’s what we’re getting at here.

When I was N/A I still felt a difference with installing headers with stock tune but a tune would help a little more I bet

That's what I wasnt sure is if updating the already tuned tune would add much to really be worth it or if it was just minor. Sounds like it would be pretty minimal so might just wait till more stuff gets done

So with intake spacers, cam gears, headers and a JDSM tune on a N/A what are we looking at far as horse power and torque for gains?

I would guess somewhere in the same ballpark as the URD stage 1 N/A performance package. Can hold 6th gear up certain hills I'd previously have to be down in 5th.

Is it possible to convert a text or string of characters to a numeric value in the scanner? I am currently exporting everything to excel to do the conversion. I would like to be able to convert it in the scanner to use it with filters, user defined math functions, etc. For example, my current gear is shown as 1st, I would like it to show up as the number 1 only. Also, several items show up as yes, no, on, off. I'd like to be able to convert these to numbers.

What about being able to upload a csv back into the scanner? That would be very helpful. What about combining multiple scanner files into a single scanner file?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

So I put on long tubes and haven’t been able to get the O2 sensor readiness to “complete.” Looking at the scanner today I notice B1S1 reading 3000F, while the rest of the sensors read 500F.

The sensor is reading A/F accurately it just reads high temperature and I suspect that’s why it hasn’t completed. Anyone seen this and have a solution or is it time for a new sensor?

The ecu wouldnt know a difference between stock manifold and long tubes. The temp reading is simply a guesstimate based on a table of the tune. Drive it some more as you likely disconnected the battery for the install and it needs a few drive cycles to figure things out

    That was
Right. Any idea how the ecu is making the exhaust gas temperature calculation? Those temps I mentioned were at idle.

Many different people have reported over time that when running a 2011 ECU in a 2012+ truck that the coolant gauge and cruise control indicators do not work. My goal was to install a 2011 ECU into a 2014 truck and figure out a way to make everything work. Then to provide you guys the details on how to do it.

I was thinking that in order to use an 11' ECU you would need also an 11' cluster and possibly run an additional wire or two. I ordered an ECU and cluster from eBay, bought 4 more credits from HP Tuners and was prepared to put in some time and figure out why it doesn't work. Unfortunately, my plan has been foiled because I installed the ECU and everything works. Obviously, with everything working there is no further diagnostic step that I can take.

Maybe this only works on my specific model truck. Maybe it only works with certain ECUs. Maybe I just got lucky. I suppose "your mileage may vary" applies here.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cruise still works, it just simply doesn't illuminate on the cluster. I'm wondering if the 2014 gauges are different from the 2012s which reverts back to the 2009-2011 circuitry.

That may be the difference. My temp gauge works and cruise works and the indicators light up as before. Someone with a non-working combination will have to carry the torch from here I suppose.

Maybe I should investigate buying or borrowing a 2014 cluster to see if those lights will work. If it does, the only issue would be adjusting odometer mileage.
