Just returned from NAPA where I bought another gallon of Ru Glyde. I got started using it to keep from damaging tires on a mounting machine. Now, this is from the days when there were FULL-SERVICE service stations that would check everything under the car and squirt some Ru Glyde on bushings to keep the suspensions quiet.

It has a soap content, I use it to clean under the frame and rubber bushings. That's how I keep old car suspensions looking like new. I like to use it on tires when detailing. It doesn't leave an overly sticky film. Just a good all-around rubber dressing.

I bought it in October of 2018 and I started to rebuild it, it was running and driving again... like the first time I took it out of the garage under its own power... in June of 2019

    I should've rephrased that a bit.

I'm gathering parts that'll get installed which includes; front coilovers, front UCA, rear shocks, rear springs, rear upper links, rear lower links, panhard correction kit, and panhard bar.

The lift will get thrown on all at once, and like Zane mentioned, adjusting the upper links to match factory and install them. I'll refrain from installing the lowers at that time in the event that the lowers introduce vibration and I mistake it for the uppers needing adjusting. Then I'll throw on the panhard bar and correction kit.

Unless I should do it a different way...

That's purely for rubber upkeep right? You couldn't use that to resuscitate old rubber parts?

Do they even make a product to bring rubber things back to pliable?

You should throw the lowers in at the same time, consider them part of the lift, the uppers will adjust to compensate for the little the lowers may be off

The 3rd gen can suffer lock up if using all heim/johnny joints on all links, not to mention if you only drop the panhard bracket on the passenger side, could lead to the driveshaft making contact with the fuel tank.

Just little odds and ends one needs to look out for on these SUV's.

Doubt the LC/LX/GX suffer that issue.

Good point though on the extra bushings; never hurts to have plus they're affordable.

I have found some incredibly rare rubber bushings in junkyards that were all dried out and cracked that are no longer available for an antique car. I put then in a jar of Ru Glyde (e.g. completely covered in liquid) and let them sit for a few weeks. Basically I forgot about them. When I came back, they were soft and had returned to a pliable condition. They are new, but 100% better than when I started. Sometimes you can save an old bushing by soaking it in Ru Glyde. Just depends on how far gone and the original material.

They can all suffer the lockup issue, its less of a problem with the angles on the LX/LC they're just a more study setup with where the panhard located and the upper links triangulate. But it can happen to all of them if you do allow too much movement, it's still short arm parallel 4 link, only so much it'll do before you run out of suspension travel range. LC have the whole offset drivetrain thing to avoid driveline issues though

Looking out for everything and keeping it lined up so it doesn't bind is like an art. I haven't found many "how-to" instructionals on correctly tuning a suspension. I see a lot of adjustable Panhards on LCs without much thought being put into dropping a Panhard bracket or what is being accomplished.

Most are about slamming on some cadre of this and that aftermarket blah blah blah part. Sure the suspension feels different, but how does it behave in stressful conditions.

I see lots of people misuse adjustable panhards because it was easier than doing it properly and trying to achieve a mostly flat (neutral) panhard by moving mounts.

I'd bet most stuff like this happens based simply from lack of understanding, experience, or instruction:D
Which is why it doesn't hurt to thoughtfully plan out a build like y'all are doing:cool:
