Damn... That's a really hard hit man. You all healed up? How long was recovery?

Side note: I've sold 2 bikes in the last month. One sold for cash in hand in 7 hours. The other (Spartan) sold before I even posted it. Someone messaged me when I posted my new bike and bought it before it was even built. Crazy.

You (somewhat recently) swapped to a Shimano drivetrain from Sram, correct?
How are you liking it? What ultimately made you switch? What level of Sram to what level of Shimano? Would you do it again?

Yeah I’ve got about 200 miles on the new XT drive train. Previously had GX shifter and Cassette, XO1 derailer, crank and chain. SRAM was fine but I didn’t like gear spacing and I felt like it had to be tuned up more regularly. Much prefer XT/Shimano. The new 12 speed spacing is much more useful and with power glide I can shift under load, don’t feel like I have to baby it as much. Plus can double shift up.

Edit: I am still running the XO1 Carbon cranks.

I’ve got a bontrager specter. I’m a fan of it. It’s a small feature but the fidlock buckle is nice. It fits my head nicely too

that bike is clean! But I have to say it’s almost strange to see a bike without a dropper these days

I get it brother. Quite a few people still ride their seat posts up the trails and then open the seat post clamp and drop the seat at the peak. It’s not a super challenging thing to do

Circa 2000 we did that. What a PITA. So nice to have it when needed via a thumb handlebar mount. Granted I’ve been using a remote dropper since 2008. I use it, but not as much as some claim to use it. Still nice to have when you want it instead of stopping and doing the quick release method at the top and then again at the bottom. I get the fact that some would rather run a cleaner bike with less gadgets and less of a weight penalty. Go single speed and ditch the dropper if that’s what it’s all about.

Exactly, like I said, I’ve ran one for years. I’ve also ran without one in between those times of service. To each his own, I myself love having the option at my thumb at any time. I can deal with the weight penalty or one more cable and lever on the bars for the convenience of it being there. But, I get those that choose not to run one. I’ve been on the verge on more than one occasion myself but the convenience of it outweighs the penalties.

    LOL
I’m older than you and get the cool factor.

Let’s get serious though. If it’s not for you, I get it. My years of running one has proved it’s not needed as some would lead you to suggest. It sure is nice when you want it though.

Probably be best to sell the Transfer if all it’s there for is the cool factor. ;)

Same here. GX -> XT/XTR. Not much wrong with the Eagle stuff, just finicky and never 'perfect.' The Shimano stuff is definitely better, smoother, faster, stays in tune way longer, spacing is on point.

One was sold on Craigslist (7 hours), $3k. Good deal.

The other was sold when I posted my new rig on the Devinci forum on PB. Dude sent me $$ while the bike was in pieces, a week before I was able to even get working on it. $3.5k, but lots of new stuff on it. Kinda sweet for him though, since I had to do a full teardown and rebuild, gave it a full overhaul.

Wrecked pretty hard in the bike park yesterday and noticed my shifting was pretty bad today. Before I pull the trigger on a new derailleur, this looks bent to everyone else right? Just wanna make sure I'm not seeing things and yes, I checked the hanger and straightened that out a bit too.

Hit up Lair O the Bear near Morrison yesterday. Did Bear Creek out and back. Tons of people, especially through the river walk section, but everyone was cool! Fun trail!

    not enough.
try replacing the pulleys/jockey wheels. in fact, it's actually fairly simple to replace the cage as well if there's concern there.

Being this is my first season with my own bike and that I'm a fairly new rider, I outgrew my first bike (purchased 3 months ago :annoyed::rofl:) and got a much needed upgrade a few days ago. I've owned it 3 days now and have 4 rides on it already :anonymous:
