    Backstory please!

Traded a 2014 Focus ST. Absolutely loved that car with the turbo and 6 speed. Life and hobbies changed and I needed a truck. I miss that car a ton

Non diesel if I had to choose to do it again would be my pick. To many issues with the diesel in my opinion. Other than that, suspension is awesome along with the 2 lockers.

Was the regen cycle the trouble? I almost bought the diesel instead of my Toyota but decided that’s what I couldn’t live with

    Ouch. Love those S2000s.

Here’s what we traded in when we bought my truck and my wife’s Prius Prime in 2017: a fancy car that didn’t suit our lifestyle at all.

That was a lot of the trouble yes. So each fuel fill up, the truck would go through a regen cycle to burn off the diesel particulate matter built up in the exhaust. In order to achieve this, you have to drive at or above 30 mph for like 20-30 minutes straight. City living as we all know is stop light after stop light. Can’t sustain the 30 mph or above for an extended time. So what happens is, it throws a CEL and the only way to clear it is to visit the dealer and they have to put it up on a lift and do a force regen to clear it. Now, if you live in the country or drive the freeway extended periods a lot then it may be fine for you but for me in the city life, it’s a no go. Just got tired of it and went back to what I know and trust. Don’t give in to that diesel hype like I did, not worth the headache that comes with modern diesels. Take care.

2018 Accord 2.0 manual 6. Really enjoyed driving that car on the road. Bought it after my 4Runner was totaled- was thinking it’d be nice to have a road car with a manual. It was a very nice to drive here in the mountains. Spirited, even. Ultimately, it was too delicate for my lifestyle and needs.

They gotta start selling those with a manual cycle. Great engines but city
folk just can’t live with that.
