Bought a new 2019 Tacoma TRD Offroad having radio issues!

This is the second day owning my new Tacoma and the radio shuts down and restarts! I took it to toyota and they didnt know what was wrong with it cause it did pose a problem. I drove it home and it did it again! WTF........ but analyzed it to find that its my Iphone X paired with radio's bluetooth was causing the issues. All the software are up to date but still the same problem. I will be taking it back to Toyota. Anyone had similar problems and found the solution? I been reading this is a common problem. This sucks since my Tacoma only has 100 miles on her.

 

There is a software update for your radio, the dealer will perform it under warranty.

It address's a huge list of concerns. Rebooting, blank screens, and blue tooth cut outs are all resolved with it.

 

Also check your iPhone iOS, when I put in 13.1.3 it started acting worse than 13.1.2

My radio will freeze up and won't do anything and sometime will just start channel searching on its own but it says mine is up to date.

 

Mine does the same, and it seems to be sensitive to humidity.

They released an update sometime after jan 2020 that should fix your issues

 

Mine would cut in and out and finally wouldn’t boot up. Toyota replaced it under warranty and the 2nd one has had no issues. They’ll take care of you.
