Family is growing and our baby is finally here! Unfortunately my girlfriend couldn’t fit in the front seat while the baby car seat was behind her. So I took this opportunity to find excuse to get a 4Runner! The dealer bought my 2.7 double cab taco for $27k! I paid $30k for it new and put 35k miles on it in the past 2 years. It will be missed for sure. I wanted to keep the taco for many years to come but I am happy for my upgrade. After all taxes and fees I wrote a $5k check and financed $11k and to top off everything when I was receiving the new vehicle I noticed a scratch on the dash and the sales manager offered me to replace the whole dash or take a check for $1k... I took the check. So far I love the 4Runner and I’m happy I was able to experience the Tacoma.

my first impression of the 4Runner was how smooth the transmission is. I did go from a 2.7 to the 4.0 so I’m sure that helps as far as not having to stomp on the gas pedal all the time to move. I like both interiors but have to say the taco feels better and the taco seats are more comfortable. I’m a big guy so the extra space in the 4Runner is a nice upgrade for myself.

So far I’ve been able to manage 19mph in the runner but I’m sure that will drop once I stop babying it.

    ok bye

Congrats, my wife has a 4Runner and we definitely love the space. But I’m lucky that my wife is 5ft tall and fits with a car seat behind her with no issues in the Tacoma.

i was looking forward to getting a 2020 nightshade, but then this epidemic hit and all the inventory went down the hill here on the islands. so now my focus is on 2021 nightshade. its a good thing i waited cause 2020 was a good revision for the t4r, but the 2021 adds to all that PLUS gives t4r led headlights and foglights standard (led hi beams standard on pro, limited, nightshade only.) anyhow, grats on your purchase, the 2020 model year is a very good year to pick up a 4runner. definately a huge upgrade for sure.

Congrats on the growing family! My buddy up the street has both 4Runner & Taco DCLB and his wife, both daughters, and all 3 dogs apparently prefer the 4Runner. So when they go to their house in Mammoth and want to take both vehicles, he is stuck driving solo. Kinda funny to me but it shows how nice the 4Runner is.

The rear facing car seat really changes things and many vehicles aren’t perfect with them. My two boys are 37 and 50 lbs now, and I just got my Tacoma a few months ago after a long 10 year truck-less drought.

Leather seats or waterproof seat covers and rubber floor mats are a must! Kids are masters at creating mess in a vehicle, it’s really quite amazing.

I drove 4Runner’s for over 20 years! Great vehicles! I miss mine, but I love having a bed to haul things in. Enjoy!

@waltuo: yeah i brought couple vehicles from my boy ryan at servco main. actually the sport sequoia thats in my rotation now and the 2013 sr5 prem i had before that. cool cat and seemless process. this time though im just gonna use the local dealer. gonna get rid of the sequoia through them instead if trying to sell this beast. just way easier with this climate. if i was just gonna buy straight up with no trade i woulda gone with servco again no doubt.
