So I have a heavy duty bumper and I set the shocks to a 2.5 highest setting. And it only went up like 1.5 inches and I was wondering what’s the best thing to do to pop it up to the 2.5 a spacer or a coil I Hurd of old man emu coil over please let me know plus I’m on a budget

Find a set of 3rd gen take offs. The coils alone will give you an inch. From there you shouldn't have to max out the perch setting.

    OME 2886 would be ideal.
Wheeler's sells polyurethane top spacers. I would install a half inch on the driver side and a 3/8 on the passenger - under $20. However, 3-inch lift is very close to requiring aftermarket UCA's. Maybe go 3/8 and 1/4".

The 886/5100 combo, with front aftermarket bumper, is used by Taco, FJ, and 4Runner owners. One 4Runner said he preferred the ride with this combo over OME Nitros. I didn’t do extensive research, but from the threads I read, no one expressed issues with this combination. Headstrong has a motive to recommend against this combo - sell you more expensive products.

OME has the 2887 spring which is supposed to pair with the 5100's for a steel bumper and winch. Ive got 2885's and recently am in need of a steel front bumper, i wont be running a winch, i've been told i should be fine with the 2885's in that case. If it droops too much i'm going to put some 1/2" Spacers in on top from my old lift to correct that.

Preloading a spring doesnt add capacity, just height, you need new springs.

OME 886 with the adjustable 5100's set to 0 lift and plate spacers on each side to correct the lean and to give you the extra bit of lift needed. Ride will be alot smoother than if you were to set the ring at the 2nd setting.

The 886's can be paired with the 5100's. This has been my setup for the past few years. Have plate bumper and winch. Many people have this suspension setup with no issues.

Also, Headstrong RECOMMENDS the Nitrochargers to be used with the 886's. They do not say anything about not using the 5100's or issues that might occur with using the 5100's

    New spring would be best.

In regards to heavy 700+ lb springs and 5100's, I am running a 725ln spring on the 2nd notch on 5100. Rides like butter, even with all the armor and gear. Only got about 2" because of the weight.

So I put Bilstein 5100's and OME 885s on my truck about 1000 miles ago not expecting to be putting a 130lb bumper on. Well now I have a C4 Hybrid on it and obviously lost my lift up front not running a winch for now. I need some opinions now, do I:

    1) Adjust the 5100's up one notch from the zero setting (I know above I recommended against this)
    2) Add my old 1/2" Spacers back in on both sides, this is what I said I'd do but I'm not sure that would get me all the way back up to where I was. These are top hat spacers and not preload.
    3) Bite the bullet and get OME 887/888's?
