So I am new here. Looking to add those oem lights to my 2020 sr5. Just so I am clear. The only way to add them is with this harness and the modification you did above? They are not simply plug and play with the harness?

correct. SR5 does not have the LED lights so a different wiring harness. You would have to modify the harness to run the LED lights, or get aftermarket lights designed to be used on an SR5

I think alpha Rex makes a model for the SR5s, and Morimoto too. Not 100% sure just going off of memory. Quick google search will show you

I’m the least tech-savvy person on these forums. Also, I am an SR5 owner who despises my headlights. I desperately want the LED upgrade.
However after reading these seven pages I have come to the conclusion that I will NOT make the upgrade. I wish someone would create a simple solution for those of us who don’t know anything about splicing, tapping, or whatever.
Alpha Rex are hot garbage, and Morimotos need an extra harness for the SR5s (not mentioned in the instructions or online anywhere).
Anyone upgrade to the Morimotos on their SR5 and everything work properly? I checked the XB thread, and SR5 owners expressed frustration.

Which generation Morimotos did you get?
    Do they work as advertised?
Did you need any extra parts?

@Puppypunter made a plug & play harness for OEM led headlights on the SR/SR5. You could reach out to him and see if he’d be willing to make another one.

I did make a harness for the SR/SR5. Totally plug and play. There is a small bug I am working out with a hyper flash under certain conditions, but I am confident I will get that corrected. Should have more on that in a week or so (just waiting for a few things to come in, then off to @Gtboosted for final testing). When I’m happy that all of the bugs are worked out, I will probably whip up a few for sale, as well as post a DIY thread for anyone that wants to tackle it themselves. It’s that damn turn/DRL being combined that messes with this so bad. My end goal for a harness will be true plug-and-play, in the sense that you unplug the old headlight (which I’m sure you are already doing as they are getting removed), plug my harness into the now open connectors, and plug the other end of my harness into the headlight. So @DawgLover and people like him can have the option of the OEM LEDs too, not just those TRD guys :D

Looking forward to the new and improved harness and final results from @Gtboosted . If everything works out then I might take a stab at those OEM lights.
I saw on another thread that people suggested turning off the DRL option on their Entertainment screen. That seemed to solve a lot of problems. Maybe that helps?

It would help to turn it off, but if you wanted DRLs you would have to substitute another signal. You could do something like ACC so the DRLs are on whenever the truck is or something like that? But what I want is something that just does what I set the switch to do. Nice and simple. Plus, I think disabling the DRLs is only an SR5 option, so still not a solution for us lowly SR peasants :anonymous:

So happy with the first prototype harness and the headlights! All is working fine but just a minor thing. Turn signal hypeflashes when all lights are off.

BUT I didnt buy these expensive headlights to drive with them off so it's never an issue for me. I always have the DRLs on in the day or lows at night. I just found the hypeflash by accident.

If I had to buy the headlights and harness with this in mind I would do it again in a hearbeat! Just mentioned it to puppypunter as he wanted feedback.
