Intake spacer isn't too big. Should be able to design with standard manual (non-scan) measurement tools. How close to the engine? I would think heat would be an issue and aluminum would be the best choice,

 

I thought someone by now would have started making an 3D printed intake spacers by now because the only options is a $265 aluminum one or milling down an old surge tank.

 

They're right on top of the intake, and go in-between the plenum and the intake manifold. Lots of heat there. Would need to be abs, I believe the stock intake runners are abs.

 

That's what I figured he was talking about. Aluminum it is. Cheapest route is the $265 one that is available.
One could creat the part in PLA, use that in a lost pla (lost wax) process and then cast the part. So now you need a mold, green sand, and a crucible set up. But the time and materials would likely still cost well above $265.
Can't say I'm highly knowledgeable on this, but I've been looking into the possibility.

 

Hmm... I just thought it would be easy to scan this and sell them.

 

If you send me the inside diameter measurements of each intake port, and bolt hole spacing, I'll give it a shot

 

That doesn’t sound like a laser scan. Lol, I built roads not pianos so 10ths is about the best I can do on a tape measure laying around here.

 

Calipers and radius gauges will do the trick.

 

i have an extra intake if someone wants to buy the damn thing. i dont need it

thought someone on here took the stock intake and cut the bottom off to make a spacer. shit i dont remember.

 

Yeah, @hx989 used my old one from my blown motor, cut it down and made one.

Pre-rona I'd agree. These days real pants is an accomplishment for anyone.

 

Since I've picked up a couple RPi's, I'm committed to finding a way to remotely run and repair heavy equipment from my couch. Now I just need to make time to learn how to write code and build a Johnny5. Or I just put pants on every morning and go-to work..

 

Judging by the quality of work I've seen, and the amount of time my guys spend on the couch at work they've figured out how to remotely repair aircraft. I can have them send you some tips...
