Lol yes.... That's the stuff! :spy:

@magneticwhite88. Those light covers are great. Lamin-X (great customer service btw) has two versions. Precuts and full sheets. I recommend the full sheets like I gave @DG92071 in the photo. They allow you way more room for error.

I've never used them on restored headlights but it's worth a shot. Just make sure you polish the hell out of those lenses if you use the film covers

Edit: just a heads up. Installation can be a pain in the ass.

I looking for some advice from the detailing experts. I'm planning a thorough detailing of my 2015. This whole process gets confusing. Here are the steps I have in mind:

    1. Wash with Meguiar's Car Wash.
    2. Clay Bar with Mother's organic.
    3. Repeat #1
    4. Polish with Griot's Correcting Cream
    5. Wax with Collonite 845

I know some of you have your favorites for the products. I'm just looking for guidance on the process. Anything I'm missing? Thanks.

Is that the 1/2" or 3/8"? I have been thinking about adding the 1/2" Makita to my Arsenal. The 1/4" gets a lot done, but it won't break lug nuts loose that are torqued at 85 ft lbs.

it’s a 1/2, that’s new this year. Mid torque they call it. Breaks lug nuts easy and is small.

i put some LaminX yellow precut on my fog lights and really like the outcome. A bit of a PITA to install but take your time and install wet, very forgiving product.

Finally got around to putting the @state48overland rear differential breather relocation kit on. I rerouted to the drivers side tail. And since I was there I upgraded my reverse bulbs.

I'm glad I did since this big storm is coming through.

It should happen more often that the internet is like this.......instead of the cancer I see often times when gaming.....That said this forum is great and I love the information sharing! Everyone gets a little smarter a little bit every day no matter what thread you happen to pop into......

When I got my truck used in Mar-2020 with 96K I changed all the fluids - front and rear differentials, transfer case, and tranny fluid....Also greased all my u-joints and bought a grease gun just for that purpose and used Lucas Red and Tacky #2. Felt a huge difference immediately.

This is for a manual 6-speed btw. If you have an automatic, I don't know. Going forward I'll probably change it more often than not depending on how much work the truck does. Since I haul firewood/rounds probably every 20K.....

I wouldn't consider myself an expert, but I would use Dawn for step 1. Dawn will strip all the old wax and everything else off the Taco. Most of your off the shelf car wash will not strip the old wax and chemicals, this is intentional. I do this once a year on our vehicles and then immediately put a few coats of wax back on them. I did a clay bar after the dawn strip this year. worked out great! I am going to clay bar and ceramic coat it next time I dawn strip Betty.

I use Dawn to strip the boat each year as well. I use Dawn for everything. I love Dawn.:rofl::thumbsup:
