    It's from the fire. 14Fwy, Sierra Hwy and Golden Valley are all closed. The backup is bad into the San Fernando Valley.

    Some are thinking they are taking a shortcut thru Little Tujunga / Sand Canyon are getting stuck (lower right).

    What happens is big rigs try to take it but it's way to windy and they bottle up traffic for miles.

    It's a little breezy 1-4mph winds. At least the smoke cleared out. It cooled from 102* down to 96* at the moment.

    Not a lot of rain so far - driveway is still polka dotted - but there's been plenty of wind and lightning. Good news is the temp dropped from 88 to 65 with the arrival of the storm. All windows are open in my place, cooled off more in here in the last 10 minutes than my AC did all day :laugh: might actually get to sleep in the house tonight!

    The rain hit us here yesterday. I put out some mid-summer fertilizer beforehand, but it was a hard rain and probably washed it down the creek. Expected to be 90 here, and humidity around 60%, so a decent August day.

    Daughter is getting her college stuff ready for move in this Saturday. We have an appointment for 90 minutes to move her in the dorm. She’s excited to get back to school and I’m excited for her. She did very well her first year, well 3/4 year, on campus, and I have no doubt that she will continue to do well.

    Enjoy the day-stay safe out there.
