That is an absolute bullshit comment. Look for a new service guy because that guy likes to talk out of his ass.

Also, your transmission is not sealed. It just doesn't have a dipstick which makes servicing it more of a pain in the ass to do.

Flashing D is Honda, it usually means a solenoid failure.

Toyotas the check engine light will come on if its badly low, but you'll feel a huge delay first.

Hi and welcome to the. From what I've read here, these transmissions come from the factory low on fluid. It's not that bad to check and fill as needed.

Flashing D is for Hondas. I did a drain and fill on a CR-V and didn't get it all the way filled up; the D flashed. I checked it, found it low, added some ATF, and no more flashing D.

Ever hear the saying, 'if his lips moved he was lying'?

That usually applies to the salesman. Which unfortunately most dealerships want service writers (and finance guys) to be.

Doesn't sound like this one was trying to sell you something, so he must just be a cousin of the sales manager? Ask about it.

Just don't get caught flashing the D, you might find yourself in trouble for that.

It shouldn’t. There’s a procedure to activate a transmission fluid check mode where PRNDL lights (don’t remember which ones) will blink or stay solid telling you weather it’s too hot, cold or just right to pull the check plug. When at 95-113 degree F you should be able to pull the check plug and it should trickle out. Nothing is underfilled, Pouring out is overfilled.

Your profile shows a 2007. It would not be a bad idea to "inspect" the transmission fluid.

At the dealer we use a scan tool
To watch the trans temp. Easiest way.

There isn't a check plug at all..Its basiclly a round plug with a hole in the dead center of it...This bs is exactly where the check plug should be...Blew my mind when I saw it...
