No worries, if you look at the diagram, it shows a switch at the bottom. That switch makes to so you can make navigation inputs while in driving, factory settings don’t allow that because it’s distracted driving.

You need to understand the feature first. The feature is that you will be able to type an address in while moving, or better yet have a passenger do it. In Stock form you must pull over, put it in park and then type in for navigation.

The switch is so that you can turn it on and off. The ability to type something in while moving, I am not sure why they offer a switch. It seems like if we went to all this effort, we would all have the preference of doing this.

so if I'm understanding this correctly everything will work as normal the switch is just an extra so you can put in navigation while driving, what happens if your navigating and then hit the reverse camera will it mess up the navigation

That feature is completely separate of the camera feature.

Maybe I'm looking into this and making it harder than it is but basically if I hook this up everything is as normal with the navigation

The reason that feature is possible with the anytime camera wiring, is that they both happen to use the same wiring harness. Otherwise they have nothing to do with each other. The install instructions could be clearer for sure.

By the way, I have a 2020, and wish that occasionally I could type in an address while the vehicle is in drive. This is not possible without the Navigation Bypass modification. It only impacts your ability to type in where you want to go, while in drive, it impacts nothing else.

I just ordered it and was considering canceling the order because I thought it was going to mess the GPS up in a way it was not going to work without being an electrician but from what I understand if I just plug and play everything's as normal

I don't know if your harness comes with those wires connected or not. I assume not. If it doesn't work the way you like, you just twist them together in a secure fashion. And Electrical tape them. NO reason for a switch.

But the only reason for doing that would just be to input addresses into my navigation while driving correct

That is correct. Most often this comes up when you have someone sitting next to you, and you ask them to do it. It is really annoying (to me) that this cannot be done while moving.

Everything works. I installed the kit 2 years ago on my 2016. Don't worry.
