I actually contacted a lemon law firm about my issue. They Advised me to keep taking it in every time a new spot appears and get copies of report. Sounds like if I take it in 3 times for the same issue they will take my case. I’m going in for the 2nd time soon. I’ll just have to wait for the 3rd I’ll keep u guys updated but I recommend u guys contact a lemon law firm near u.

Yes, it’s part of the “Toyota knows about the problem and does nothing” thing.

Lol ya when I was on the phone with them I brought it to there attention. But still they haven’t heard of anything like that for “that particular” model. Kinda saying yes we know it’s an issue but not for Tacoma’s. But wouldn’t tell me what Toyota models. I’ll let the lawyers deal with them. Sucks it’s this way as much as I love Tacoma’s but I have to do what’s right.

Ive posted about this before , and its a long story , so I'll try to shorten it up. My wifes 2017 began to have 2 small places where the paint was peeling. Of course , our car was one month out of warranty and the " Platinum Protection Plan " didn't cover it. After 6 months and several calls to the Toyota help line , they agreed to fix it. Went to pick the car up and there was overspray in the interior , wtf ?. Went straight to the dealership and cancelled the protection plan. I am really disappointed in them. I expect better.

Damn. Toyota use to be so good too. I’ve been a Toyota owner for over 20 years and this is the first time I’ve seen where they are not standing by there product.

Man , its its been a fight from the beginning. We have a guy detail her car every month. He brought it to my attention. At one point Toyota had approved the re painting but no one called me to bring it in. So it had to be re approved. When we picked it up , there was white overspray on the dash and hood release handle. I was pissed to say the least. We never had payments on the car. I paid by transaction at the dealership

What sucks is all Toyota says is “a fix is coming” but don’t give an estimated time frame.

    it’s so vague.
is there anything you guys can do if it takes a year or two until they come up with a fix?

I was told the same a year ago. A fix is coming but I was dumb enough to think it was coming soon lol Now I’m understanding it’s not coming. Time to lawyer up ✊

Toyota has issued a support program for pretty much every Toyota with super white and blizzard pearl. Except Tacoma and tundra!8B47E26F-FF97-40C4-B811-3BB7C42729CF.jpg

Pretty sure that paint program is the result of many lawsuits which is what it will likely take for them to listen to us.

    WoW. Thanks for the info.
First off. Don’t they use the same fking paint? I’m sure they don’t just paint Tacoma’s or Tundras with different color white paint
I was told light colors take a different type of paint sealer or whatever it’s called. And if u live in a hot climate like CA where I’m at. The hot sun causes it to bubble. Don’t know how much of that is true because I know nothing about paint.

I am beyond disappointed with my 2016 Toyota Tacoma.... the paint has started peeling in another section now. Toyota refused to stand by their product last year and now a new section of paint is peeling off. I have been waiting patiently for Toyota to do the right thing and add the Tacoma’s to their repair campaign, but this waiting is starting to frustrate me. Has anyone actually been able to get Toyota to fix the peeling issue on a Tacoma? (I originally reported the issue to Toyota two months past the 3 year mark.)

Ok... was about to post a new thread and search and saw this. I actually saw my paint peeling last year before this corona started but with work and the family I never got around to bringing it in. I google that time and saw that Toyota was going to have a recall so I wasn't in a hurry to bring it in. Fast forward to now when I had to bring my truck in for an oil change I thought I bring up the paint peeling. Was told it wasn't part of the recall. I was pretty livid but know that the people there couldn't do anything. Decided to call Toyota headquarter when I was waiting for the oil change. Needless to say it was a waste of time and the girl on the phone just basically said I had to pay for it out of my own pocket. What truck would have its paint peeling after 2 years. Now I wish I knew about the 3 years but again hearing about the super white paint recall when I first saw it I thought I wouldn't have an issue with this. My truck was never off road. There's peeling on the left and right back passenger doors and even under the hood. I only look under the hood because again Corona and I haven't driven the truck anywhere so the battery died so I had to jump it. How does paint even peel from under the hood?!

Once mine is fixed I will likely sell it for an F150. Tat or a magnetic or tan Tacoma but this paint thing is souring me on Toyota.
