gladiator. Colorado/canyon. Ranger. Mitsubishi is coming back too supposedly. “Ridge line”. Way more than just the Tacoma.

I think the Ford is going to sell like hot cakes. Not to me. But it will be a hot seller. I think there will be a lot of fleet sales.

LOL at the GMC/Chevy truck. What a POS. I wouldn't let anything from GMC/Chevy near my house. They literally have interiors from the 90's and look like shit on the inside. GMC is the worst American brand out there right now and they hold that position with no competition.

Mitsubishi is an absolute joke and won't be around in two years. Have you seen it's recent financials?

Ridgeline is a minivan, but very nice for someone who doesn't ever plan on going off pavement and wants their truck to feel like a car.

Ranger yes, but I don't like the looks.

Gladiator is ugly unless you spend 50k. Not great at off road and not good at being a truck. Literally just for people to flex at the mall.

So, there is the tacoma IMO for a small truck only.

Also, fleet sales on the ford? To WHO. If its bed can't fit the equipment it's worthless.

Maybe a fleet of overlanders led by @m603holden :boink::rofl:

The company I worked for down in VA had a fleet of those Mazda pickups. For a lot of the time, they were adequate but we ended up severely overloading them fairly regularly. Similar company in NY that I worked for had all V6 regular cab F150s and they stood up to the abuse much better. The 150s handled the weight better and were more comfortable to drive but the Mazda trucks were much easier to maneuver around tight jobsites and were harder to get stuck (both companies only bought 2wd trucks).

Oh I'll lead the overlanders somewhere alright.

"hey guys where can I get maps to places people are trying to keep open so I can trash them, piss off local land owners, or get stuck and be a burden on anyone. Just as an FYI I've never personally changed the oil on my truck, but trails!"

We do it for the fish and it get away form people. Not the gram'. It's fucking called camping.

It's a M8x1.25 thread. Just like 90% of the other bolts on the truck.

Thanks, now I won’t look too stupid when I go to the parts store. I think I found a few options online late last night.

They sure do! That's why I snagged the first loaded Lariat I could find in an extended cab. I see so many people without kids driving around in crew cabs and I don't understand it. My back seat has plenty of room for the occasional passenger and I still get to have a 6-1/2 ft bed without driving something that exceeds 20 ft in length.

I posted this one before, but this is with the front seat in a position I always have it in for driving. I'm 5'10". If I drop the back seats I can sit comfortably in the back as well. The grid pattern on the mat is what's available for leg room with the seats down.

After having used my back seat to sleep in, I’m glad I didn’t get an extended cab Tacoma. Full size extended cab is about the same as the mid size crew cab in terms of space. I like that ford though. If I go full size it’ll be extended cab. I really like the clamshell doors even if they’re more prone to leaks long term.

Yup, I had a DCLB Tacoma before and I'd say the back seat is about the same.

I like the clam shell doors too. The little doors on the back of the Ram and GM trucks make no sense to me. With that B-Pillar and a door hinged onto it, it's much more difficult to load stuff in the back.

The only thing I don't like, looking at the picture, is how far the center console goes into the back seat. But I prefer console shift. Would have to be compromise, guess I could live with column shift :notsure: Not sure if the higher trim F150s even come with column. I know it's an option (part of the sport package or something like that?) on lower trims. Whatever - we're way into the future for me, not worth fussing over now :p

Pretty sure you can get a Lariat with the fold down center seat up front which gives you the column shift. Not sure how common it is though.

my thing about the new ford Maverick is that they are saying 50inch or smaller bed. Which makes it an issue for lots of fleets I would think? Not all, but I would think a fair amount.

Yeah, with big things the console is usually the obstacle.

Lariat 502a and up automatically get the console. Anything below that gets it with the sport package.

I guess it depends on what you're moving. I can see a lot of couriers, pharmacy, etc. Not construction, etc. Maybe there won't be a ton of fleet sales, but I see fleet sales taking up most of the sales of the thing, which will probably be pretty low. From a consumer level, the people who would use this would just get a hatcback, or a BOF mid-size. I would think. Seems like they're trying to find a middle ground of things that are so close already. Put a hybrid in the ranger and call it a day.

Roger that. Yeah if I had that much open space, goal would be to set up a dog crate back there, and my issue with the tacoma right now is even if I rip out the seats to convert the back seat to a dog setup, the center console sticks out similar to that. I like console shift but, not super attached. I was very attached to my specific Tacoma setup this time around, I like it, but I'm starting to see where I may have overpaid for things I really don't use/need.

Oh jeez, I'm behind the times. I thought you guys were talking about the Ranger, this is the first I've heard of the Maverick. I googled it and :puke: That thing makes the Ridgeline look like a 'big truck'. Reminds me of the Subaru Baja that was wildly successful about 20 years ago...

It looks like the bastard child between a ford focus and a ranger. But like an inbred child.

Yeah it’s gonna fail hard. If they gave it a full sized bed would be a lot more attractive. 6ft bed with 2wd and like 4K towing would kill it tho I think.

I don’t love the ranger but it’s certainty capable of being a mid sized truck.

I've found some pictures of people who have removed the rear seats from a SuperCab for that purpose. Lots of room if you do that.

There are a few weird regressions between my 2018 and this truck, all related to that back seat. The fold down lever is now a pull cord on the side instead of a big plastic handle on the underside of the seat which just isn't as nice looking. The rear headrests no longer fold down either, and the rear cupholders don't have adjustable spring holders like the fronts do. Nothing that impacts me, but it's interesting that they would make those cuts.
