Never seen one broken down or in a shop ever. Didn't own one because I like to wrench on my own cars and if nothing ever breaks, than there's not a whole lot for me to do. That's why i bought my 3rd gen Tacoma

Maybe three months is considered long term for GM, Dodge, etc. :p

Well your typical basic chick is not going to investigate as to why her base Jetta's air con doesn't blow cold as her heart. These brands are lifestyle products meant to be leased and disposed of.

I've owned VWs and a MINI Cooper S and while I loved the cars the shit that broke was just enough to make my blood boil. It's kind of ironic that as of yesterday I was looking for a builder GTi at Copart, but kept getting out bid.

My f150 recently got it's first check engine light. It took 150k just to see that.

For the most part the big three's trucks are reliable

My buddy has a 99 f150 with 340k miles on it! I agree if you maintain any truck it will be reliable

I remember during the late 70’s and early 80’s the quality of the big 3 was pretty bad.

At that time, maybe initial reliability was more important.

It was also around the time Japanese vehicles started to become more mainstream, probably due to two gas shortages/ fuel rationing.

Japanese cars were attractive because they got great gas mileage, and as it turns out- also extremely reliable.

Reliability is much better now than 40+ years ago imo.

Imo, CR was bought out by toyota in the past to get good ratings/reviews. I don't believe JD power either...their in gm's pocket to. I can't speak for all 2020 tacoma's, but so far except for an eratic/dirty door switch its been a fine truck.

Tell that to my neighbor who has a 2015 chevy that still hasn't resolved the chevy shake issue.

how long has the taco had the shake?
both my 2nd gens did it and my 3rd Gen does it as well. If your not familiar with it, it's most noticeable on the front passenger seat.

Only type of shake i get is a choppy ride...i've been use to my tundra for 19 years, but my gas mileage gets a 5 at nearly 24 mpg compared to 17 on the tundra...best i ever got during a long trip hauling nothing....usually it was around 15 or worse.

the tacos are known to shake the passenger seat, some more than others, at times mine will do it like it's going to shake right off the floor
and the next time I drive, nothing or close to nothing, very odd. Not sure if the 1st gens did it or not but I've been seeing many posts for the last
2gens for at least a decade now.

Dam I own a 2020. Should I b worried now everytime I go to sleep. NO. Some people nowadays are so sensitive and it's probably from there bringing up and maybe it started when they played T-ball where they dont keep score and everyone gets a trophy and it's sad if that's the case cause in the real world there are winners and losers. As far as Toyota I have been driving them since the 90's and this is my 4th with the 20 year and nothing serious since I've been driving them so I'm not concerned about the 20's. Now if it was a new engine year then I would not have bought it cause there is always some trouble shooting with those. And people are complaining about the transmission and I have 3k on mine and I dont see or feel a problem with mine so I cant relate to those that saying they have an issue with there's
