And this is really the fault of Toyota. They should do something to make the TRD Pro exclusive. A lot of car manufacturers go out of there way make a Top Tier Trim exclusive, either by limiting parts availability or doing something to the engine.

I agree, they should have added engine performance, reinforced the frame, wider body panels similar to a Raptor version to break it out more. They didnt do that.

If its going to be a trim package, make it available in any color, AC and DCLB versions, they would sell a lot more than they do.

I get surprising decent mpg too. Usually over 17 and over 18 quite often. The plural is Preii.

I don't think I advocated this and yes that would be wrong.

But to your point about it being a replica. In order to qualify as a replica wouldn't you have to add replica parts?

I totally agree, and I probably would have bought a PRO if it was mechanically or performance wise better than the OR. The dealer put several PRO parts on mine (wish they would have done the red stitched seats instead of regular leather) as part of a “spec 1” build. As it stands there is no way I would trade my “off the lot build” on the OR I bought for a stock PRO. Granted I paid more for my OR than the stock PRO. And before someone says I will take a hit on reselling because upgrades don’t matter.......I have had build out Harley’s so I get it!! Not planning on selling anyhow.

No, however there isn't much difference between a Pro and Off Road apart from the price, beefier skid plate, and beefier suspension. Pretty much everything else is cosmetic and available on the TRD Off Road if you pay enough.

With that said, that leads me to a point I've made before and that is, if you want to add mods and upgrades, you may as well go with the TRD Off Road because it'll be cheaper to buy up front and still has the features you want (locking diff, etc). Kind of pointless to spend $10k more just for the name only to take off the things that give it that name in the first place.

    Lol... this is funny.

no one is arguing that you can’t build an off road to be better, nicer or more capable than a Pro. That’s a given. What most people are saying is that only a Pro is a Pro. An off road with added parts (even if exact Pro parts or better) is still NOT a Pro.

when comparing the trucks in stock configuration, the Pro is the far superior truck. Once you start modding all bets go out the window. Either truck can beat the other in terms of looks, functionality and capability.
