Keep 2020 honeycomb grill or go Pro?

I lucked out and they included the pro grill in my 2020 taco OR

I like the pro grill much better but the extra price sound like a move apple would do, and do. Toyota can be just as bad.

 

I like the 20 grill, keeping mine, but wouldn't mind finding an option for the logo would be nice. I tried a matte black overlay over the just the chrome portion and it didn't look great. Been meaning to get some MGM vinyl and try it.

 

Yup. If someone came up with a nice replacement for the chrome Toyota emblem, I'd drop some $$$ for it.

 

I got a 2020 grill from a local member and put it on my 19.. the pro grill is cool but man there everywhere.. my trucks black and I think the 2020 grill goes nice with it

Does the tss sensor off the 2019 grille bolt up to the 2020 grille without modifacations? From the pics i've seen the housings look a little different

 

I wish there were more options for a better looking grille because I can't pretend to like my new off road one. It really is ugly but I wish the pro grille wasn't the best cheap option (and your options limit even more with the Tss) I don't understand the "bro grille" joke because if it's the only real other option out there, it makes sense everyone is going to go with it. I can see getting a bunch of raptor lights and other grille lights would be very "bro"...

 

Love the 2020 grill, only a few sports and off road have it. Not many vehicles out there that you can buy a custom grill for compared to Tacoma. Selling your 2020 grill would be so easy. SR and LTD grills will work with TSS like the Pro grill.

 

What's not to understand? Any time a ton of people do something, people will make fun of it. Lots of people don't stop at the grille as well. They want to do a ton of changes to make it more like the pro, which brings more ridicule. Pro people want to gripe because they want to feel special about their "limited" edition mass produced vehicle. It should be easy to see why lots of people make fun of it.

Just do you though, only you can care what random people think.

 

I like my grill. Would like to maybe add lights but not sure.

 

Anything but the BROyota grille. I literally roll my eyes every time I see one

 

Personally the Pro grill doesnt seem so special anymore.....I am sure it was cool when it came out but I like my SR5 grill just fine.

 

Yea I think it looks cool! Much better than most years.

 

Probably the person who bought the first knock off Pro grill said the same thing. If you look at the big picture, we're all driving Tacomas, not exactly a rare vehicle. Sure, a lot of people have moved to the Pro grill because it looks good and makes them happy. The same reason we all bought Tacomas. If you really want to be different, buy a Ridgeline

 

I'm staying with my 2020 grill. Did a few mods on it and I am happy with how it looks.

I got my pro grill back in 2016 when there wasn’t a lot floating around, at this point all I see is pro grille.

 

never realized there could be fucking grille hipsters until i joined a tacoma forum.

the pro grille is so popular because it looks good, end of story.

 

If ya like what you got, stay with that. If you like the pro, go with the pro. I could personally care less if every Tacoma on the street has one. Point for me was to get rid of the hideous chrome cheese grater and go with something OEM looking. Don't want a Pro, don't want the truck to look like a Pro. I just prefer the grill. Also helps reduce the "Leno chin" look of the front end and balances the profile out a bit to my eyes. Like the looks of the SR grill as well, but prefer the older school "Toyota" emblem spelled out.

Not sure how a grill gets played out any more than blacked out wheels, badges, bumpers, de-badging, etc. What I roll my eyes at is the Toyota design team whose best efforts resulted in that cheese grater grill, or even the newer TRD grill for that matter. But at the end of the day, you're the one paying for the truck….if it looks good to you and pleases you, what else matters?

 

Did you tint your emblem?

 

It's not "played out". It's a factory Toyota part, not some random aftermarket grill. That would be like saying the standard grill is played out.

Not to mention it's by far the best looking grill.
